“Always Twirling” spins into action with driving 16th note hats, compressed pads and soaring strings. 808 snare fills rattle throughout and a warm, dubby bassline provides the speaker-troubling low end. “Twirl And The Beanstalk” goes for a more heads down, bare beats and bass approach resulting in an intense, floor friendly track that grooves extra hard. Finally, we have “Whispering Twirl”, a sumptuous slice of mid-tempo deepness with a hint of boogie and a dash of soul.

Probably you already found out that we are preparing for the 1 year celebration and our special guest is Mick Wills [Nation, Minimal Rome, Gigolo Records - Stuttgart, DE]. This will be his second visit to Sibiu (after 5 years) and his first in Cluj-Napoca. Many words can be said about the man who started his djing career almost 25 years ago and has released his first EP back in 2001, on International Deejay Gigolo Records, but we leave the words to the only three Romanians with releases on Gigolo. Instead, we present an exclusive dj mix from Mick recorded live in Jena, Germany, on July 24th this year.

Enjoy and “Dance like nobody is watching”.

The Model:
“What struck me first at Mick Wills is his true dedication and passion, the obsession in collecting records; rare and unknown. He visits all annual European vinyl fairs, with a portable battery-powered pick-up and digs up unknown rare house and italo records. He also impressed me with his the incredible mixing technique, he is a true master …  “

Masstyk:
“The visionary Mick Wills is one of the 100% pure dedicated electronic music activists, which spins discs the same way he lives his life, and that makes each of his sessions a real experience. You’ll find attitude as its best, in a large variety of seduction electronic music genres (electro, chicago  house , techno, italo disco, ebm and TB303). He signed with record labels like : Minimal Rome, Gigolo Records, Space Factory, Automatik-Datamatik, Psycho Thrill and others. Recently he joined the dj rooster from Nation record label  based in Chicago, alongside artists like: Traxx, James T. Cotton, D’Marc Cantu, Naughty Wood, Nancy Fortune and others. The last ones mentioned makes no compromises in their beliefs, vision, roots of their soul convictions. Try not to miss Mick Wills gigs and you’ll reborn from the Force.”

Mihai Popoviciu:
“Mick Wills is one of the best DJ I’ve heard live. It has an impeccable technique, is very precise and sure of himself and the music selection is the cherry on the cake. It’s almost better than me :) ) “

Special thanks to Mick for sharing this with us.
