Mathew Jonson – Agents of Time [WRL001]

Wagon Repair is releasing Mathew Jonson’s sole debut album. Across a decade, he has come up with some remarkable material. Having perfected his brand of earthshaking epic with tracks like “Marionette,” “Return of the Zombie Bikers” and “Symphony for the Apocalypse,” Jonson has increasingly turned his efforts towards more personal, introspective music. He hasn’t left the clubs behind—his new album, Agents of Time, features a number of tracks that are as hip-windingy wily as anything he’s produced yet, full-on tracks like “Girls Got Rhythm” and “Thieves in Digital Land.” But he’s also taken advantage of the longplayer format to stretch out and indulge darker moods and slower tempos.
Marcel Fengler – Thwack [MOTE017]

Luke Slater would appear to be picking off the finest European techno bods for Mote Evolver, selecting two tracks from Berghain/OstGut’s Marcel Fengler for the latest. The onomatopoeic ‘Thwack’ shunts with an uncompromising throb and ghoulish synthlines attempting to escape from the groove. Prime body music.’Sculptures’ on the other hand comes off like a mid-period Surgeon cut with monotone metallic synths and stiff jacking percussion.

kyle hall – The Water Is Fine EP
Scrolling back a few years, Mood & Grooves present one of the very earliest (and digital only) Kyle Hall releases for the first time ‘pon wax. ‘The Water Is Fine’ was produced roughly around the same time as his FXHE debut so what you’re hearing is a lovely snapshot of a producer in near-embryonic form. ‘Create Your Existence’ makes a cautious start, taking its time to warm up with silken chords before dropping a thick house beat and sparkling keys. ‘Tomorrow Is The Day’ is nothing short of a stunning house track, the sort of gear you’d expect to hear from Shake in his prime (when in fact this guy was 17 when he wrote it!), and finally ‘One Ribbon’ sails home on a kinked shuffle of raw percussion and head-melting interstellar jazz keys. Lovely.
Andy Blake – Cave Paintings 1 [CP1]

Cave Paintings is a new imprint dedicated to rough as you like machine music that lives somewhere in techno, house and EBM territory. All the tracks are done live in one take on old analogue boxes for a loose, organic and spontaneous feel that its impossible to capture when using computers.
Baz Reznik – Dirt From The Mind [SD17]

Dirty, sleazy, mean and in your face pumping Chicago electrotechno jack from upcoming The Hague talent Baz Reznik on the ever impressive SD Records label. It has that beloved La Haye roughness that makes it essential for sweaty, hypnotic dancefloors and dark afterparties.
Baz Reznik – Entering the Lost World Mix
Actress – Splazsh [HJRLP049]

Darren Cunningham’s eagerly‐awaited new album is an adventurous, ultramodern, thoroughly British affair, rummaging about in the inner lives of house and techno, and brilliantly elaborating the accomplishments of his debut, Hazyville.
Oliver Deutschmann – Field Recording 005
Smear – This On Your Ears Mix
Noah Gibson – Live at The Office #13
