The Robot Scientists – 3rd B-day of Overfitting Disco Mix

Foto Recordings enlist the talents of Deep Space Orchestra for release number three in the catalog. First up “Riding In My Imaginary Jeep” showcases their trademark old synths/modern production aesthetic to full effect, taking in classic drum machines and warm synth lines to produce an epic piece of deep house. Second track “Sir Shina” sees them doing some deft sample-manipulation with a big chugging midtempo jam the result. Label owner OOFT! is also present with a remix.

Shakarchi & Stranéus comes with their five track EP “Dödskallar Och Korallrev”, Studio Barnhus’ second release. They are making some of the most catchy, emotional and well crafted dance music.

An album by F.l.o. is now out. As usually, CD are available for those who love physical format. Free and payed downloads are available as well. It’s an deep techno album, with a touch of oldschool.

This is the debut release in this new series done by Absurd Recordings. The first Acid Test 12″ features 3 tracks from Tin Man, including a remix of “Nanneo” by Donato Dozzy.

The second release from Geography Records is the debut solo EP by the very talented Julius Steinhoff of Smallville Records. Steinhoff sets a beautiful atmospheric mood throughout the EPs three tracks. Starting of with the warm and vibrant “Mischief Of One and Another”, then the straight forward yet subtle “Out In he Woods” and ending it with the mesmerizing “Zealand”. “Out In the Woods EP” is a future classic whitin modern deep electronic music.

Framework – as you’d expect of a man who performs genuinely live for hours, often only ever calling on his own tweaked, edited and skewed productions – is an uncompromising album made up of pure techno tracks of the sort you’d expect to hear on the dancefloors of places like Berghain or Tresor. They go from pulsing and classic sounding to skipping and glitchy, through greyed-out and sandy via swinging and syncopated but always with a sense of restraint and control whether they are abstract, apocalyptic, atmospheric or whatever else. Drawing from a dusty, dirty toolbox of sounds, the echo-y, cavernous chambers and dusky warehouse aesthetics of Dehnert’s moody music betrays the purity and simplicity of his arrangements. Although his records are undeniably functional, at the same time, they are neither nondescript nor forgettable: somehow, through masterful sound designs and an accomplished knack for blending real tension and atmosphere with his obvious Basic Channel and Berghain influences, Mike Dehnert manages to lock you into whatever mood takes his fancy with apparent ease.

This seems to be the very first material by The Man Behind The Screen before he starts his ”Cosmic Starflight” 2 years ago. Just three deep-space technoide particles could be rescued out of the black-box after we spotted the spaceship wreck on our radar.

It’s been a while since the previous ‘Finale Sessions’ 12″ but the follow-up is finally here featuring three killer tracks from Luke Hess, Fred P and Tom Dicicco. Three quality deep tracks from some of the hottest cats around!

It’s time for the first podcast from the new year and we bring you a very special session from a vinyl devoted person. Lektronikumuz, Remus Miron in his real name, is a true defender and keeper of the vinyl, one of the last of his kind in Romania. Remus is playing exclusively vinyl and he is, in my opinion, the only dj still playing regularly quality Detroit techno in Romania.

Modern Chicago underground don, Tevo Howard presents his new single from Ben Watts Buzzin Fly label, with this elegant dancefloor gem. Remixes from acclaimed Dublin techno producer Donnacha Costello and new Berlin hotshot, Aera.

Tevo Howard joins up with his father again to deliver another classic Chicago house record. It’s another must-have from the Howard camp.

New release from the Italians Marcello Napoletano & I.F.M., named “Renegade Roots” represents the evolution of their own vision of house music. On the A side we have 2 tracks with almost the same sound philosophy, filtered, dirty, analog percussive and futuristic chicagoish dub house, from Marcello Napoletano. The B side instead has got definitely an oldschool feel, with 2 tracks from I.F.M.

With her debut artist album, “Yours & Mine”, we discover an even further developed producer in Steffi. Steffi shares with us her personal journey. A long period of intense experimentation and self-discovery led to this sensitive, instinctive and extremely insightful long-player. Carefully mixing old and new, warm analog synth and drum textures flow in unison with modern studio finesse over nine tracks, each telling its own story.

Steven Tang sign his first EP with Syncrophone for a Detroit oldschool flavor. After his different productions for his own label Emphasis & the huge EP on Aesthetic Audio, Steven is back for this EP with Derrick May spaced influences. Additional remix by Chicago Skyway.
