The title track is a typical KiNK work out, which is based around an infectious disco loop and is blown to summer anthem proportions by the anthemic break-down which features Rachel Row on vocals. On the flip we find ‘Express’. A sleek groove that rides around all sounds that train: horns, whistles, train tracks, you name it..
Third and final EP from Eros, and it’s another great ep with some rare lost classics from the raw, decadent and formative birth of club music re-programmed for modern floors. Naughty, haughty edits coming with the proper late ’80s Sheffield-Chicago warehouse vibes. Rocking drum machine chops and Inner City vibers on the A-side, Hardy-esque edits and amyl-huffing happy-happy vibes on the flip.

The first track up, ‘Cuttin’ Headz (Tribute)’ is by Nor’Easter which is an ode to the interlude; a tribute track to early nineties Hip-Hop! ‘Times Like This’ by Dj Qu is a fresh, driving, deep and forward moving percussive dance floor thumper. Then there is ‘Tri-State’ by Nor’Easter, a gritty NY Hip-Hop track.

Compton is the second release from Discovery Recordings. The EP comes from Chicago’s Olin and Co. Processing. ”Compton” kicks it off with hypnotic vocals made ready for the dance floor by an infectious rolling bass-line and filtered keys. ”Oslo” is built on dueling arps and spacey percussion that together cultivate a swirling deepness. On remix duty are Glasgow’s OOFT! and Berlin’s Nils Penner
This release marks the beginning of a fruitful and exciting new partnership between secretsundaze’s James Priestley & Marco Spaventi. Secretsundaze fuses 128 BPM house and techno with elements of UK bass, while taking cues from Cajmere and Chicago. ‘Baia 2012’ refers to the late 70s Cosmic scene in and around Rimini, particularly Baia Degli Angeli where Daniele Baldelli was resident. At the time, a patchwork of styles was being presented in a wild but coherent way. This unusual and organic sounding offering is backed by a Fela Kuti percussion loop, a massive bassline from a Prophet 5 synthesizer, original drum machine work, vintage synths and varied jazz riff samples. An unexpected Larry Heard inspired breakdown and searing sax line steps it up a notch and takes the track to a whole new level. If the Baia scene were still in full swing, this production would be the perfect audio representation of its evolution.
Jose Rico and Urtzi bring us the 7th Downbeat release, paying homage to Science fiction and exploring the relation between human beings and machines. The result is a solid exercise of researching with hardware, which brings all the label influences. Jose Rico is the responsible of ”Flight to Andrómeda” and ”Hiperspace”, two obsessive, mechanical but full-of-feeling tracks. Moreover, Urtzi introduces himself with ”Ouroboros” and ”Terra Luminae”, two synthetic tracks with influences from Chicago sound. Four dance music tracks which go straight to the heart and brain.

Cave Paintings 4 arrives with two tracks. 4x flies into hypnotic techno territory. big drums, big bass and big synth strings creating a rollercoasters in outer space vibe. 4y brings some house/garage swing and wild pitch atmosphere into the Cave Paintings equation, introducing elements found in Andy’s recent contribution as Slazenger’s People to the Spargel Trax release into a long, tracky Cave Paintings workout.
The third split 10″ from DeepLabs and Revival Records. The DeepLabs side is a raw Detroit techno cut “Transition” by Martin Muller aka YouAndMe. The Revival side is “MS612″ by Dario Zenker, a deep and forceful techno groover with a moody bassline.

Marco Shuttle starts an adventure with his very own Eerie records label. First trip is a great 3 track ep in Marco’s signature sound. Deep, super deep acid & 808 driven grooves and dark dubby reverbed drums and dramatic strings.
After three releases of darkened house, proto rave and weird techno, Holland’s boutique Purple Maze label takes a detour into funky disco territory with Prime Numbers and Firecracker craftsman Fudge Fingas at the helm. His Amaranthine Labyrinth EP is lively, bright and sugary, but still features plenty of complex analogue machinery to get you dancing.
London producer George FitzGerald with a four track EP entitled Child on Aus Music. His productions combine the lush, melodic sides of house and garage with the more intense, jacking rhythms of dubstep and techno. His second EP for Aus fully explores the 4/4 end of his production spectrum to devastating effect with four tracks that are all designed with the peak time dance floor in mind.
