Andres’ second EP on his own La Vida label, following up the label debut “New For U. The “Second Time Around EP” features the single “Skate This Way,” a house tune with epic strings guaranteed to bang the dance floor. On the flip is “Second Time Around” and “Hart Plaza” both originally released on KDJ Records, but here we new versions with additional keys courtesy of Detroit’s own Amp Dog Knight.
New Sound Signature release by the very talented Andrew Ashong, an up and coming musician from the UK. Funky, soulful and romantic, with additional production from Theo Parrish.
Beautiful South Sudanese song by Mary Boyoi, with outstanding, epic Portable rework & direct, Chicago-esque Tama Sumo version.
Tom Demac makes the step up to the Glass Table imprint with a far ranging three track EP. ‘Obstructing The Light’ is a lazy and moody soup of swirling deep house. Dreamy voices drift like clouds above a chugging kick clap combo as light finger melodies keep things from growing all too dour. ‘Four Leaves Right’ is a quicker joint, but the moods are still studiously sombre and melancholic. There’s an irresistibly swinging arc to each kick that really sweeps you up, along with a deep, buried, bobbling Bristol bass-like b-line to keep things firmly rooted on the dancefloor despite the dream-pop vocals and layers of intricate percussion.
