Our next quest in the Hipodrome will be the lovely and talented Pasiphae. She is going to play for the first time in Romania, in Cluj, at Gazette on March 9th.
Originally from Grece, Pasiphae took DJing and music production seriously when she moved to the Netherlands six years ago. Based in The Hague, immersed deep into the darkest corner of the Dutch electronic underground, Pasiphae began her musical career.
She began experimenting with various analog & digital music equipment and playing at local events. In 2016 she had her first EP, alongside Intergalactic Gary, on BioRhythm, a Rotterdam based record label run by Paul Du Lac and in 2018 she had her fist solo outing on the Dutch label Artificial Dance curated by Interstellar Funk.
Her style shifts between machine driven melodic electro, leftfield techno & acid, new beat, EBM & wave. Her sets are charming and creepy in equal measure, packed with mutant alien funk, horror-fired dancefloor dystopia and ravishing electronic soundscapes.
Lately we find Pasiphae playing music on club nights & festivals across Europe, enjoying the vibe and ensuring the sets she delivers are refreshing & dance-driving orientated. She’s playing at festivals like Intergalactic FM, Todaysart, Dekmantel, The Crave, ADE or Grauzone, so one more reason to come and see & hear her live for the first time in Romania.
