Musical Tasting is a series of events, a collaboration between Asociatia My Transylvania and The Hipodrome Of Music, aiming to promote countries, regions and their musical genres, combining auditions with traditional recipes from the area, cooked with as many local and seasonal ingredients. We will have musical and culinary trips in Turkey, South Africa, Middle East, Germany, Italy, Belgium, Cuba, Greece or Romania.
The Hipodrome Of Music is a blog born in 2009 in the Hipodrom neighborhood of Sibiu, its aim being to promote a music that is less known to the wide public. Hipodrome is a mixture of electronic music, new wave, psy-rock, jazz or disco from different places of the world (The Americas, Africa, Europe or The Middle East).
Musical Tasting #3 comes with a special guest. Remus Miron (Lektronikumuz), from Brasov, is an avid records collector, having a collection of over 10 000 records cu music ranging from jazz, electro, disco, techno or experimental. For this event, Remus will offer us a selection of Romanian jazz, soul disco, funk, pop-rock and new-wave from the 70s and 80s, artists that are less known to the public, who’s music steps out of the standards of those times.
My Transylvania cooks dinner, Hipodrome plays the music. Expect an evening with reinterpreted Romanian season recipes and Romanian music, forgotten in the dark corners of the communist censorship.
