A new signing for Quintessentials: Life Recorder. The man from the south of France represents a very Detroit and Chicago inspired house sound, with deepness, melodies and groove. To complete the full french package, another hot producer adds the remix : Aleqs Notal.

The release encapsulates a wealth of influences combined to create a modern and innovative soundtrack. Producer, DJ, and founding member of the innovative ClekClekBoom collective Aleqs Notal has continued to cultivate a sound that’s rooted in the sonics of Detroit and Chicago. Here he gives a taste of his upcoming EP ‘Big Tal’s Elements’ with ‘Untwisted Delight’, a homage to the timeless sound of the Motor City. A bass-driven DJ tool, pulsating with the resonance of the 808, evoking echoes of Pittman, and igniting a powerful dancefloor energy.

The new Finale Sessions signing is Parisian Aleqs Notal. “Linea” with its lush keys and pads moving in and out to monsterous deep bass great deepness for sure. Track two “Scenium” is deep track with a great sound that moves in and out of the dancefloor with its techier pads and massive drums most def a late night killer . Last but not least we have the track “Disparity” with its fantastic drum programming, wavering pads and keys this a great chill track to get the party going right.
A solid piece of wax with different weapons including already known ClekClekBoom producers and extended family. For this first volume, French Fries teams up with NSDOS on a hypnotic jam, bringing Chicago’s percussive legacy in a 90’s NYC ballroom. Then we got Aleqs Notal going deep with a new batch of his lunar material where tripping synths meet spaced out hi-hats. On the flip Jean Nipon provides his drummer background to display some infectious rhythms colliding with a shuffling syncopated bass, while Barbara Ford takes us through a heavy mesmerizing acid jam tunnel. Overall a deep and yet club-material experience representing perfectly what ClekClekBoom has to offer today.
Last year saw French label ClekClekBoom cement its burgeoning reputation with a compilation showcasing the local talent it had been championing since starting up in 2011, including such luminaries in wild-card bass music as French Fries and The Town. There has been a swarm of left-leaning club bangers issued out since the first volume of Paris Club Music, and so it doesn’t feel rushed to be welcoming the second volume with a stack of choice cuts from the past twelve months. There’s a strong unified vibe to ClekClekBoom, from the tight but slippery electro of Manare to the off-kilter techno of NSDOS, while 50Weapons staple Bambounou sounds right at home with his primal and utterly head-spinning “Idem”.
This is the first EP of Aleqs Notal, a boy who spent his early years in the heat and sand of Saudi Arabia, but then decided to take some dust with him and throw it in our ears. In love with the soulfulness of Detroits style and the roughness of Chicago suburbs, he comes solid with this four tracks release full of shadows and tricky rhythmic patterns. While it sounds calm on the surface, theres a lot of restrain angst hiding behind, convulsing all along this mental tracks.
