Spazio Vitale – Spazio Funky [DSM015]

Disco Segreta brings you another italian disco rare holy grail. Spazio Vitale has been an 8 piece one-off studio band project from the Sampierdarena district in Genoa, Italy. They recorded and released their only 45 single in November 1977: “Spazio Funky” b/w the ballad “Il Bacio”, on the local tiny Melody label. “Spazio Funky” is a magic-carpet ride through the classic elements of funk-disco: electric bass and drums, along with guitars, choruses, three voices and the heavy use of Eminent 310 Unique and Clavinet Hohner D6 synthesisers, rendering the widely experimental nature of the late 1970s disco scene in Italy and the diverse nature of the music scene of one of Italy’s music epicenters: Genoa. This first ever 12” vinyl release will feature the original “Spazio Funky” 1977 version, along with a remix by italian synth mastermind DJ Marcello Giordani.

LOUISELLE - La Mosca (reissue)

Disco Segreta brings another most-desirable italian holy grail disco gem. Originally released in 1979 as a 45 single on the tiny private label “Papaya”, “La Mosca” is the very first version of the “Andromeda” track, already reissued by Disco Segreta in 2015, but this sports completely different lyrics and is sung by a different voice, that of italian folk pop chanteuse Louiselle. This reissue sports the original 45 vocal version, restored to its glory in two versions, and in addition will include a previously unreleased version found on the tape, with a completely different arrangement , “fly” sound effects and different lyrics.

Brina – Stranamore [DSM002]

The second release of Disco Segreta – catalogue number DS M 002 – is titled “Stranamore” and comes after the successful release of the first label imprint “Andromeda”, already turned into an underground disco classic. Sung in italian by mysterious singer Brina, “Stranamore” and “Per Te” are two italo-disco tracks written in the ’80s by Mario Baldoni (aka Miro) of the “Safari of Love” fame: a teenage girl shares her heartbreak, then it’s just the instant magic of italo, italian language and those synthesizers, in a freeze-frame taking back to that spring of 1984 with the car windows open, listening to the radio, waiting for summer to arrive.
