Marcel Fengler returns on IMF and offers three new inspirited musical pieces that protrude from the club context just as well as cater for your home stereo, picking up on the diverse musical moods defined by his debut album Fokus (Ostgut Ton, 2013) while concentrating on intertwining sound aesthetics.
The IMF label serves up its first release of 2015 and introduces a rising Berlin talent Somewhen. Lead track “Dain” is a stripped back thing of wonder, approaching levels of trippiness that put it somewhere between Dozzy and Acido, whilst “Aula” offers a rougher, more unpredictable side to Somewhen’s production palette. To end matters, Somewhen lays down a gnarled slab of acid perfect for deep in the night in the shape of “XJ”.

Index Marcel Fengler continues with its second installment, introducing an expertly produced EP from respected long-running artist Echoplex. Since 2000 Echoplex, the Polish born Peter Sliwinski, has released truly pioneering, atmospheric and soulful techno, appearing on his own Soleil label, or Synewave amongst many others. This triumphant return to the limelight comes in the form of three stand out tracks.
