The Robot Scientists – 3rd B-day of Overfitting Disco Mix

Some classic Italo disco for the dancefloor brought to you by Minimal Wave (NYC) sublabel, Cititrax! This EP brings together four of Domenico Ricchini’s best songs, which were released on various hard to find 12″s throughout the years. This is the sound of early Italo disco, with its slinky pre-midi synth-funk elements and great tempos, dark synths and nonsense lyrics to match.

Meet the space invaders from St. Petersburg, Russia! Two disco lovers and graffiti artists Zool & Vir with their new duet “Rushhour” make music on a very edge of modern house and retro space-disco. Remixed and mastered by the godfather of Dutch elektro mafia – Alden Tyrell.

Fred Ventura is not only famous for the great hits he released under his own name. His voice could also be heard on many classic Italo Disco gems. This EP contains four of his best ”Undercover”-tracks, previously released as Fockewulf 190, Myxoma and Flexx.

Alba with their first full 12” release. The triumvirate of Roland Sebastian Faber, Keen K and Label Owner Michael Künzer is a team that has been delivering the goods on labels such as Clone, Das Drehmoment and Viewlexx. The 12”, titled after Künzer’s one year old daughter, contains three tracks; Philomena 1-3. Each track has a different twist to it, showcasing what the able electronic Alba are capable of. “Philomena 1” is a cosmic synth fuelled work. There is a electro boogie within the bars of “Philomena 2” piece, but it is the electronic depth that rings true, while “Philomena 3” keeps the heavy synthesizer sound going.

Stefano e Bene with their own definition of the Italo Disco sound. Remixes by the jackers from Snuff Crew, Hard Ton himself and Katzbatz.
