LAB.OUR 06 features offbeat, dancefloor techno from Hermans (Jerry Riggs ‘Dick Diamonds’ & Maxwell Church). ‘Sweat Box Rock’ is an epic stormer that sounds like a techno jam session with alternating beat patterns and dirty keys. ‘Dustin Tombtones’ is an uptempo acid workout destined to move dancefloors. B2 is a remix of ‘Sweat Box Rock’ by Lab.our Music bosses Basic Soul Unit and J-UL.
LAB.OUR 05 showcases tracks by 4 different artists, displaying a diverse spectrum of deep sounds. Lab.our Music co-owner J-UL’s first ever release, Tempest, is a moody, beat driven track with layered synths. Maxwell Church returns to the label with Elastic Ban, a rolling rhythmic journey with tense strings. Newcomer, and Toronto native, Xavier Gonzalez drops Praise, a dancefloor burner with a barrage of beats and energetic vocal snippits. Last but not least, veteran Chicago Skyway brings us Vase Mix 3, an atmospheric and melodic jackin’ track.
LAB.OUR 04 sees the return of Torontos own Maxwell Church with 3 raw techno cuts. When not busy as one of the founders of Torontos techno night The Deep North, Max releases music as a solo artist and as one half of The Hermans. Doldruks driving rhythm is anchored by percolating synths and ever changing, melodic patterns. Faxnews is a dubby stomper with synth stabs and vocal snippets. Geosynchronus Orb shows us what acid sounds like on Saturn.
