France is the country providing one of the highest number of users to my blog, second only to Germany. Taking this into consideration, I’ve made this post. I’m traveling this weekend to Paris, for some “sightseeing” and of course for some parties. Saturday 17th: Versatile Night @ Rex Club w. Mike Dehnert, Legowelt, Gilb’r, Etienne Jaumet
The 15th Anniversary celebrations are over and Versatile is back to his home at the Rex for the next edition of its residency at the venerable parisian club. For this edition prepare yourself for a techno treat with Mike Denhert and Legowelt. Etienne Jaumet will open the night with a leftfield selection, while Gilb’R will close it on a housier mode.
Friday 16th: E.M.M.A @ Showcase Club w. Mike Shannon, Mihai Popoviciu
For his third event at Showcase, EMMA offers a line-up dominated by the Romanians Bog and one of his mentors and friends Mihai Popoviciu, from Highgrade Records, whose productions are known to DJs around the world. Ekomine wear the colors of the label Cotton Stem, with a deep and powerful live-act. Finally the excellent Canadian Mike Shannon, the Cynosure label boss and major figure at Wagon Repair, will close the event on a subtle note.

Showcase is a nice club, quite big around 1500-2000 people, with a good sound system and lights and big dance floor. But the crowd was a little to glam for me and I had the feeling that it’s a tourist club.
The club has two areas: the dance floor and a “tables area” separated by a big bar.
Rex is a medium size club, around 800 people and is the most know club in Paris. I was a little disappointing about it. The light system is to much, always going into your eyes. The dance floor is surrounded by stairs and that’s not a good idea together with the light system. The place it looked to me like a discotheque. Rex has a decent sound system.
The crowd was better than in Showcase and it was more into the music.
An alternative place in Paris that I wanted to check is La Mecanique Ondulatoire, but I didn’t manage to go there.

The worst thing about clubbing in Paris are the extreme high bar prices.

Besides this there are a lot at nice places to check in Paris.
Also a lot of bars, restaurants and terraces. Drinks are always very expensive, so be sure to go on the happy hour when they ave 50% discounts.
Also you should try the onion soup and the different types of crêpe. My favorites are tomatoes &cheese and the chocolate & banana.
