Golden Pudel’s Helena Hauff and F#X charge a rampant 2nd session of gristly hardware roil as Black Sites for PAN. Relentlessly bloody-minded and primed for strobe-and-smoke-lit ‘floors, both sides give up some of the most damaged no wave/acid that we’ve heard all year. A-side: ‘Unit 2669′ locks lampin’ kicks and mind-swilling 303s to a rusted thumb piano/cowbell motif for 12 minutes of noxious, incessant club fuel in the mould of classic Bunker/Acid Planet bangers. B-side: ‘Mockba’ is a different kettle of radioactive, three-eyed fish, fxxking the beats off in favour of pulsing S.O.S. signals and waves of tarry black noise with a chaotic rhythmic agenda.

Dutch label Shipwrec present their next release – a special one-sided pressing – by revered electro specialist Anthony Rother. A pure dancefloor fire that is part techno, part electro. ‘Balkonien’ is a broody affair from the off, with a supple, rubbery bed of kicks down low and a molten synth line up top. As things unfold, a nebulous network of celestial pads spiral about, the drums bounce more and lots of sinewy machine lines dance about and have you doing the same.

Taking it’s name from the address of Ron Hardy’s seminal Muzic Box club (326 N.Michigan Ave, Chicago) 3.2.6. was a short lived project from one Dion Williams, ably assisted by the legendary Armando Gallop and Mike Dunn who lend their mixing skills and individual styles across the breadth of the entire record.

2 AM/FM - Starfist Lazerbeam

Interesting collaborative release between powerhouse labels MOS Deep and Creme Organization. The artists behind the two tracks are Michigan duo 2 AM/FM aka JTC & D’Marc Cantu. ‘Starfist Lazerbeam’ is the first cut and is a slow, purposeful house track run through with a slithering, laser like synth that constantly changes shape. Muffled, filtered vocals are hidden behind and the arpeggiated line eventually lets up and gets a little funky as the icy percussion ticks on. Its a real pressure-building track with curveball melodies that are as beautiful as they are weird. On the flip, ‘Passion’ has raw analogue drums, ticking his and trippy melodies all dancing round each other in old school Chicago fashion. A nimble bassline also dances around the mix, bring with it lots of energy, stylish funk and a real sense of playfulness.

Three is the number, Basement Toolz the titel. Once again Rat Life Records is taking Mickey on a night out to the sewer. Here are two tracks made by Credit 00 with a borrowed TR 909 drum machine. Side A is called Korg the Groove, as the title already reveals, it’s inspired by Aril Brikha’s classic Detroit Techno cut. On the Flip side you will find 909ish, one drum machine and one synthesizer, which is not much but all you need and more, plus there is extra noise on the clap to amplify your face slapping pleasure.

Uncanny Valley and Permanent Vacation are joining forces for an Uncanny Vacation! There has always been a lively exchange between Dresden and Munich and both labels are known for releasing a wide variety of music so it was only natural to team up for a joint release. The record starts off with Permanent Vacation-regular and UK-veteran DMX Krew and his “Astro Logical” which is as sharp and crisp as Electro can go. The bass line strikes hard but he also squeezes some great melancholic synth lines out of his machines. After that, Uncanny Valley’s Sandrow M finally gives access to the much in demand live version of “Prayervan”, a tune that everybody has been singing along during his live sets. On the flipside, Jacob Korn hands in “Eieiei” which rises on a percussion-heavy drum basement to a discoid House stomper thanks to an irresistible sample straight from an obscure flea market find. Drvg Cvltvre delivers a tropical House jam. “See You Again” is riding on a funky Disco bass line and creates a warm and cosy atmosphere with a whole bag of sound ideas.
