For the second installment of their four-part collaboration with Amsterdam streetwear brand Patta, Dekmantel unleash a tasty long sleeve t-shirt and another three previously unheard tracks from a trio of homegrown talents. Veteran producer and former Rednose Distrikt man Awanto3 kicks things off, joining the dots between the starry sounds of Detroit techno and Mood Hut style new age deep house on the dreamy “Cover Up”. Flip for the old skool Detroit techno-meets-deep house bounciness of Mark Du Mosch’s “2nd 5ystem”, and Robert Bergman’s “Wings”, an out-there, acid-flecked trip into deep space paranoia that defies easy categorization. All three tracks are undeniably strong, making this one of the more alluring volumes in an altogether excellent series.
Austrian label Pusic present their second release, featuring four finely crafted boogie house cuts. Proper uplifting house bangers by Roman Rauch, Awanto3 & Andy Hart.
Two hot new tracks from Steven De Peven aka Awanto 3 with a beauty of an Aardvarck remix. ‘Holy Mozes’ builds on a positively funky 80’s beat that reminds somewhat of Prince’s danciest grooves. The long, loopy synth stabs that Awanto 3 adds give away his history with Rednose Distrikt, as this sound was one of their trademarks. It also gives the track its dusty funk as it rolls into the quirky cross-over swinger it becomes.
Clone Royal Oak and Chicken Lips present Randee Jean. A new project by Dean Meredith and Andrew Meecham (Chicken Lips, Bizarre Inc) delivering some classic jazzy rhodes driven UK house vibes! Classy production and some fine recorded instruments and vocals on the original mix. Dexter & Awanto3 teamed up for the occasion and deliver two fresh and sharp remixes. Arttu,the Finnish boy wonder played around with the recordings too and came up with a heavy 4/4 thump with layers of samples that let the funk out.
On the third Alfabet release Tom Trago and Awanto3 step it up a dozen of notches or so. ‘Hell Of Samba’ surely sounds as the theme tune of armageddon. ‘Too Shy’ on the other hand sounds like we have died and woke up in heaven. A soothing, spaced-out, yet bass heavy jam that gives an strangely eerie feeling that angels are among us.
