Fredfades & Jawn Rice – Remixes [MI022]

FREDFADES/JAWN RICE - Remixes

The Norwegian House duo gets the remix treatment from Chmmr, Deep88, and Hugo LX while Fredfades & Jawn Rice goes OG on a demo version from their highly anticipated LP. Basking in the warmth of the duo’s analogue sounds, Chmmr transports Show me How to the farthest recesses of the galaxy with some spacy synths and cool reverbs blowing through Dreamcast’s sensual vocal before Fredfades & Jawn Rice tempers Travels through Air with an OG lean on the A side. Meanwhile on the B-side; Deep 88 carve a yawning a trench for Stimulator Jones’ airy vocal before Hugo LX puts a bounce in the step of Mutual Love to close out the exciting remix package. The sound of Fred and Jawn peek through consistently, with each artist putting their own distinctive stamp on the originals. Elements of Jazz, Soul and Hip Hop create a heady fusion of sounds breaking loose from the House foundations for this series of heavy steppers.

Deep88 – Remix EP [ASC303]

The remix EP for Deep88. Luis CL gives the deserved treatment to “Harmony”, doing a mellow balearic deep house trip. RNR transforms the collaboration between Deep88 and Robert Owens into a massive floor killer, with the perfect match of soul and electronic. Rhythm 2 Soul takes back the old “La Beija” and adds a 92ish Italian classic flavour with a version perfect for after hours. MHCrew brings “Rotation” to the next level adding lysergic synths and dreamy melody in an early Nugroove classic vibe. Jimini instead with his elegance and pureness add a mellow melancholic vibe to The Vibe.

DEEP88 - The Black Album

Deep88 presents his new LP ‘The Black Album’. This double-vinyl and limited CD release houses his personal style that is reminiscent of the sounds of a bygone era whether the depth and warmth of New Jersey and Italian House, a dose of sun-soaked Balearic or primitive raw jams synonymous with Chicago.

Rick Wade – Storng Arm [RYMD002]

WADE, Rick - Strong Arm EP

Detroit legend Rick Wade is back with a nice new EP on Rymd. First up “Strong Arm” is the kind of real proper deep house that is often imitated but hardly matched. From the unmistakable knack of its groove to its swirling and mesmerising Rhodes in the foreground. “Funkopolis” gets deeper and as the name suggests has a totally killer bassline and just generally awesome soul goodness going on. Proper Detroit style representing here. Italians Deep 88 and Emotion (Ignacio) turn in some surprisingly good remixes on the flip that do their job well by not deviating too much from the originals and reworking the grooves into decent alternate versions.

VA – DBA015.5 [DBA015.5]

The first of a number of various artists eps from Don’t Be Afraid. The Room Below debuts with the crisp, low-slung acid gyrations of ‘Work’, and Manuel Gonzales aka MGUN rubs out the bright, creamy Detroit lather of ‘Risqué’. Ali King also debuts with the warm, sub-heavy swing and jazz-wise palette of ‘Session 24’, and Italy’s Deep88 drops the breezy pipes and Rhodes chords of ‘Sunday Morning’.
