New 12″ by Detroit’s own Howard Thomas, aka H-Fusion. Howard has previously released on Sound Signature, and this is his first 12″ for FIT Sound. The A side “Wicked Bitch Witch” features contributions from Marcellus Pittman. Twisted, psychedelic dance music that defies genres!
Next up on Fit Sound is A split 12″ that combines the way out sounds of Chicago from veteran producer Marcus Mixx and the modern raw Detroit sound from label owner Fit, aka Aaron “FIT” Siegel.
Naturally for a producer who prefers to remain anonymous and call themselves A Drummer From Detroit and name their debut EP Drums, both tracks here veer into dextrously percussive house territory. Amidst the dizzying, jazz influenced rattle of Shake Shakir style rhythms that characterise the A Side workout our erstwhile protagonist weaves in desperate vocal strains and overtly dramatic piano and horn stabs which only serve to increase the panic inducing pace. The flipside treatment is slightly slower in its execution, yet increases the jazz funk melodic elements which make it the less a hectic and more involving production.

Shake has created three killer tracks for FIT Sound that may be called anything but failed. ‘Trackin’ is a bangin’ disco influenced house track that will smoke the dance floor. Title track, ‘Drummer Downstairs’ is a beat track in typical Shake style that mutates into something completely different and unlike anything we have heard before; while ‘Frayed’ shows another side of Shake, it is equal parts deep, melodic and dubby – an absolutely stunning track.
