Sharif Laffrey – Key Jam (A.C.I.D.) [LOTR008]

For the latest missive on her ever-impressive Love On The Rocks imprint, Paramida has turned to Detroiter Sharif Laffrey. “Key Jam (A.C.I.D)” is something of a sleazy, late night treat, with Laffrey expertly combining proto-house style drums and bass, with wonky, pitched-down vocal samples, freestyle synth refrains, the alien pulse of electro, and – of course – some ragged acid lines. There’s a lot going on across the nine-minutes, but Laffrey’s focus on the power of the groove remains in tact throughout.

Zombies In Miami – Snake Language [LOTR007]

The 7th release on Love On The Rocks, comes from the Mexican duo Zombies in Miami with a three track EP titled ‘Snake Language’. The title track is a raw an haunting drum heavy number. On the flip comes ‘Calo’ with its twisting riffs that wind and turn alongside percussive interludes. ‘Yamo’ changes the pace but is no less impressive with climactic flutes and a driving bass line. ‘El Fuego’ completes the release as a digital exclusive. With this EP, the Zombies in Miami are literally on fire!

Jonathan Kusuma – Underpass [LOTR006]

Love On The Rocks imprint is recruiting Indonesian Jonatahn Kusuma who steps up with two killer tracks of the Balearic kind. “A Steins Way” features an infectious synth bass melody backed by emotive strings, FX of the spacey kind and white noise; all that you need! On the flip is “Underpass’ with its low slung groove. A deep funky bassline and some spacey arpeggios are once again all you need to get any party started.
