Electro Transmissions 008 is a various artists release, what we call the Xtermination Krew, with tracks by Lowfish, N-Ter, Datawave, Astrobee, T/Error and Foreign Sequence. Very limited units on colored vinyl, packed in a really nice way as we have come to know by the Fundamental crew.
Analogical Force drops the third and last part in the voiceless series taking no prisoners. For this EP AF mastermind Pervert has teamed up with incendiary friends to deliver a must for the collectors of the label. Heavy line up that includes the Hamburg’s well respected Helena Hauff, Zurich’s acid lover CCO (50% of Savage Grounds), the legendary UK techno imprint B12, Canada’s Suction Records co-funder Lowfish and Utrecht based Endfest. Stunning 5-track record with loads of acid-drenched techno, super wide basslines, melancholic pads, slamming 808’s…enough to fill brains as well as floors. This release is dedicated to Rhys Celeste.
Suction Records presents a new split-12-inch by label alumnus June and Lowfish – “C.D.S.N.” 4 tracks of classic Suction-style melodic analog electro. June opens the 12” with “Cynthia 84,” a a lush, beatless Tangerine Dream-scape, thick with analog arpeggiations and gorgeous melodies. “Navigation” closes proceedings with a driving, dark electro/wave dance track. Toronto’s Lowfish co-founded Suction Records in 1997, and has been a staple of the label ever since. Lowfish appearances have been few and far between in recent years, but he’s returned here in finest form. “Dead Specimen” is clinical and pounding electro, while side B’s opener ”Scarborough Brutalist” is a prime example of Lowfish’s patented melodic electro style, with catchy, melancholy analog melodies cascading over slow but slamming 808 beats.
Canadian electro mainstay Lowfish, lets loose a preview of his forthcoming “Hypersensitivity” full-length. Lowfish is Gregory De Rocher, and barring last year’s “Memories…” album, a compilation of vintage archive recordings, this double-A-side 7″ is actually the first new Lowfish release since 2008.
