Follow up to the great “Polymer EP” on Electrowax digital series, the “Poly EP” from Polyfan Polyphenix aka Matthias Schildger again combines experimental electro with athmospheric melos and creaky arpeggiated basslines.
We start presenting our favorite tracks from 2024. More or less in a chronological order we present here the seventh set of tracks.

After a longer break Mainakustik is back with a release by the labelowner himself, Matt Star. He delivered two melodic oldskool flavoured technotracks called ‘Casionation pt.1 + pt.2’. Its also the teaser to Matt’s upcoming LP which will be released in spring 2013. The EP comes around with a Unbroken Dub remix.

Strong Detroit inspired tracks on Rawax. This one digging in the rich history of Detroit techno for its influences resulting in a cool 3 track ep of some timeless techno tracks on clear vinyl 10”.
The ninth release from the Mainrecords shop, on its eponymous titled label comes in the form of three tracks of slick late night electro from Matt Star, plus a remix from Perseus Traxx. Happily blurring boundaries between house and electro, with its tight, crisp beats the release exudes a form of stripped back and honest late night cool with basses that bubble in a way sometimes reminiscent of Ed DMX, while others lend more of a Chicago feel accompanied by rolling toms. Synth lines and arpeggiations cut in and out of subtle modulations giving the feel of anticipation one gets while tearing along the motorways of a city, late at night, the lights of the city and other vehicles brightly darting by, streaking and reflecting across the cars windscreen.
