BiGOTT – S/T EP [RAS007]

The German-Swiss friendship is further established with BiGOTT, the collaborative project between Berlin-based Sneaker and Zurich’s Scannoir. After their previous releases as ½GOTT and GOTT on Uncanny Valley and some remixes, the duo returns with a third solo EP, marking their first appearance on the Berlin-Basel-based label Reach Another System. Their passion for EBM, Synth Pop, and New Beat comes to life with a fine array of classic drum machines and FM-synths, topped with Teutonic lyrics and archival samples.
Impakto 83 – Crisis Del Nuevo Siglo [OTH011]

“Crisis Del Nuevo Siglo” is the first installment of a conceptual EP produced by Impakto 83. Inspired by the rhythmic harshness of new beat and the mechanical of EBM, this work reflects the industrial impact of a fractured era – the crisis of a future past. A distorted criticism to the age of mass production. Here, an endless workday.

Each track is the result of a deep exchange of words, sounds, and emotions. The record dialogues between genres such as Synthwave, New Beat, Electro and Techno, exploring sampling, mysterious melodies, high-energy arpeggios, and a nostalgic sensitivity. The EP closes with a remix by Dani Labb, who true to his style, managed to give it a fresh twist without losing its essence.
Interactive – The Techno Wave [MEC028R]

“The Techno Wave” was the debut single released in 1990 by the iconic project founded by Jens Lissat and Ramon Zenker (Hardfloor). It quickly became one of the defining anthems of the so-called Frankfurt Tekkno scene that swept across Germany in the early ’90s, capturing the raw energy and rebellious spirit of the movement.

Franz Scala – Saxon Rebel Feat. Local Suicide [SLOMO055S1]

Franz Scala, head of Slow Motion Records and Italo Pioneer, launches his Cafe Futuro LP with the new-beat, instant classic “Saxon Rebel”. Cafe Futuro, once the homebase meeting point for the true italo music soul of Neukölln now encapsules an album that is both forward thinking and filled with italian dance wave nostalgia that is the very proper will of Franz Scala. The single features striking vocals from Local Suicide and embodies Scala’s forward-thinking, proto-house nature. It includes both vocal and instrumental versions. With its refined flashes of the past combined with intense dancefloor energy, “Saxon Rebel” showcases the strengths of true IDW fashion.
Dr. Oso – Danger EP [MEGA08]

The brainchild of Oráculo Records, M.U.S.A Records and Ombra Festival presents the latest discovery from the Megabreakz squad: Dr. Oso, an Argentinian producer, arrives to delivery a raw, hypnotic and unapologetic take on the hard new beat style, this release is pure fire for any dancefloor.
The Zodiacs – Move & Dance To The New Beat [THANKYOU045]

This one-off Belgian New Beat project from The Zodiacs at first glance seems like standard fare from this time and place in dance music history – even with call to action, commanding listeners to ‘Move & Dance To The New Beat!’ that could well have earned a place at one of the slogans of the entire movement in an alternative universe where this record was a hit. However, a hit it was not – what we have here is an obscure piece of music shrouded in mystery, previously released only on 7 inch, and its enigmatic nature only adds to eerie quality of the children’s voices throughout the record. This, alongside its higher tempo not usually associated with New Beat as a musical form, come together to bring forth a bizarre oddity of the genre that also has the potency of a modern, peak time weapon. Anatolian Weapons on remix duties takes the material and reduces the speed but increases the malevolence and is a testament to his skills as one of the great producers working today

Facets – Party Edits [BUMP-E001]

Blkmarket Underground Music Party Edits is a sub-label to the influential Blkmarket, an esteemed label and event series in New York. Contrary to what that catalogue number might indicate, this is actaully their second release and has Facets at the controls. First up is ‘Computers’ with its raw and snappy analogue drum sounds and late-night synth details. ‘Time Of War’ is another full-fat blend of analogue drum thump and driving synth motifs, ‘Talk To Me’ has crashing cold-wave synths and deadpan vocals and ‘Paranoia’ has loopy vocals and moody atmospheres for freaky dancing. ‘Lies’ and ‘Dub To Destruct’ shut down this varied and retro-tinged EP with jerking rhythms that will do plenty of damage.
VA – Boccaccio Life 1987-1993 [MM183]

Belgian label Music Man Records presents Boccaccio Life 1987-1993, a new compilation offering a fresh perspective on the legacy of the iconic Belgian club Boccaccio – often associated with the short-lived New Beat movement. The 38-track compilation highlights the raw and futuristic early house and techno sounds that were heard in the pioneering club. Located in rural Destelbergen (Belgium), just a stone’s throw from Ghent, Boccaccio has secured its place among legendary venues like Paradise Garage in New York and The Hacçinda in Manchester. Its bold fusion of emerging electronic genres such as New Beat, Acid, House, and Techno was way ahead of its time, drawing music lovers and clubbers from across Belgium and beyond. Sundays at Boccaccio were unlike anywhere else—offering sounds you couldn’t hear anywhere else. Boccaccio Life 1987-1993 is carefully curated by resident DJ Olivier Pieters and club regular Stefaan Vandenberghe, standing as the ultimate testament to a club that was more than just a venue. For those who experienced it, it was a community — a way of life. Hence the club’s full name: Boccaccio Life.
