E.R.P. / Duplex – FR-DPX [FR-DPX]
Texan bandpass thrills and some harbour city sorrow on this split Frustrated Funk / DPX twelve. Frustrated Funk’s latest missive boasts cuts from two of electro’s most reliable artists: Convextion man Gerard Hanson (under the deep electro E.R.P. guise) and Rotterdam scene stalwarts Duplex. Hanson handles the A-side, delivering a punchy, club-ready electro workout rich in intergalactic electronics, Egyptian Lover style synth flourishes and restless drum machine cowbells. Interestingly, it’s a far bolder and retro-futurist affair than we’ve come to expect from the dreamy and emotion-rich E.R.P. project. Ironically, Duplex’s atmospheric and spacey “Molecular (Ovatow Reclock)” is undeniably deep and sumptuous, matching Hanson’s most melodious and evocative moments.

We know it is spring and sunny and shit… but we got this new project going and yes,.. it’s cold.. it’s freezing cold. Loose them party shoes and grab those 40belows and don’t forget to put your insulation vest on. We got a remix pack for the Vita (infinity) project on a nice collectable limited colored vinyl 10”. Remixes are done by non other then Heinrich Mueller, Ovatow and Versalife as Hexagon. Also included on here is the beautiful and really deep Vita original ”The Ending” that will be exclusive for this release.
Ovatow – In Loving Memory of Juvenile Jay [HCS1000]
Ovatow drops 3 extremely deep journeys into the fog of endless re-verb and delay applications. ‘Flame’ and ‘A Thought’ are 2 electro-techno tracks that are both build on randomly step-sequenced square bass lines, raiser sharp snares and dubbed out melodies drowned in layers of breathing dusty tape delays. ‘Visitation Dub III’ is a different version of an Ovatow track, earlier released as part of the ‘Viewpoints Chapter One’ compilation, but this time stripped down to the core bass line, reminiscing BC’s ‘Presence’. The release is dedicated to the loss of South Rotterdam based DJ Juvenile Jay who played an important roll in the early DJ career of Frustrated Funk’s head honcho Klen, the man behind the Ovatow moniker.
