A Split Second – Flesh [DR013]

Official 2022 Reissue. A Split Second’s cult coldwave EP Flesh was dropped back in 1986 on Antler Records. The band of Marc Heyndrickx, and Peter Bonne (aka Chrismar Chayell) only formed a year earlier but his debut single made a huge impact and has become a real classic of the EBM and wave world ever since. Numerous albums followed well into the 90s but rarely did the pair ever top this – the jerking rhythms, ravey electronics and retro-future chords all resonating as much with audiences now as they did back then.

LINEAR MOVEMENT - The Linear Way

Minimal Wave label announce a second release by Belgian Linear Movement. The collection entitled “The Linear Way” marks our 59th release on Minimal Wave and continues the celebration of 10 years as a label. The album is a collection of warm melodic electronic pop songs that have for the most part remained unreleased until now. Linear Movement is Belgian mastermind Peter Bonne (A Split-Second, Twilight Ritual, Autumn) joined by Peter Koutstaal, and Lieve Van Steerteghem contributing vocals on the final track. The songs “The Linear Way” and “Don’t Try To Trick Me” appeared on the exquisite Pulse Music cassette (released by the Micrart Group in 1983) while the rest were never officially released.

Twilight Ritual – The Factory Scream [OS018]

Twilight Ritual was/is the main project by Geert Coppens and Peter Bonne. During the early eighties they were involved in many other bands including Autumn and The Linear Movement, but Twilight Ritual is by far the most inspired project. The spirit of the band lingers on beneath the work of Autumn through A Split Second. The work of Twilight Ritual is diverse, yet consise. Their pioneering album Rituals inspired other musicians and became an underground cult classic in the minimal synth genre. “The Factory Scream” is a compilation of varied works recorded during 1984 and 1986.

TWILIGHT RITUAL - Fear For Losing You

In music, phrygian mode is dissonant, dark, depressive and gloomy. Its use was even forbidden in classical Greece for centuries because it was considered pagan. The sound of phrygian mode is rather exotic… This track was composed 30 years ago and now for the first time on vinyl. Old Belgian electronic band Twilight Ritual has authorized Frigio to re-edit an amazing song from their early 80,s album Rituals. To accompany the original version, we have an awesome remix by Sneaker (Uncanny Valley) who created a club oriented version of it.
