This is Robotron – a cyborg designed for cybersonic purposes. He has been hit by an electro-static blast and suffers a technosis trauma. As a result, his programming is disrupted – causing him to transform into LO-FI algo-rhythms. The Transformation has just begun by adopting ballistic identities and relearning AI-abilities – to continue his advanced exist-dance of termination. All 4 trax are pressed on 45 RPM to be transformed into a serious SLOW-FI nightmare via 33 RPM.
20 years after production Operating System presents some 80s touched electro-pop and synth-disco action by the real Robotron himself. WINDOWS XP regards itself as the re:construction of a 2002 produced and so far unreleased 6 track album by Adalbert Kupietz, created just with the power of Roland Juno-60 and TR-808.
There could be no proper introduction as “Fehlfunktionen” by Robotron to design the future of termination by Skynet Cybersonix. T.1 (termination one) is the debut concept album by the man behind several underground labels and projects like Interfunk and HIEROGLYPHICA – representing pure Detroit electro/techno machinery resistance on this limited 12″ 6-track LP.
The 2nd output on Robotron’s lo-fi label Bootsektor represents the very first recordings by Adalbert C. Kupietz as Interfunk. Created in 1997 on a MS-DOS 8/16 bit tracker under heavy influence by the west coast sound of Holland. Doomy, dark and moody – the soundtrack of “The Mand Behind The Screen”.
Operating System is a time capsule straight through Robotron’s hard-disc archives. Mission Millennium was planned to be his very first outcome as Interfunk containing productions recorded between 1999 and 2000 with a major focus on Detroit electro & technobass.
