Smallpeople and Moomin are two pillars of the contemporary deep house game, and the Closer label from Germany is the perfect spot for them to unleash their singular beats on. “Lack Of Lighters” is a tightly packed house gem that strays onto a delightful off-kilter mode thanks its wobbling bassline, while “Secret Elevator” is much dubbier and focussed on the low-end.

Engaged with a fantastic collection of analogue synths and drum machines, Moomin is always on a hunt of the most delicate samples.
The second release on the Fuck Reality label comes from Smallville regular Moomin, aka German producer Sebastian Genz. While flipsides “Room 207” and “Right On” are as deep, woozy, starry and twinkling as you’d expect from the long-established deep house producer, it’s A-side “You Are Sweet Sweet” that will undoubtedly attract most attention. It’s effectively an unofficial remix of Candi Staton’s dancefloor anthem “You Got The Love”, with the legendary vocalist’s iconic vocal riding a chunky, organic deep house cut big on rolling, disco-influenced percussion, chiming melodies and rich chords.
Time Circle is the first solo Moomin 12″ of this year and it sees Sebastian Genz in a classic streamlined and soulful deep house mood.
Roaming are Christopher Rau and Moomin as a Team. “Believe In Reflecting” is a result of a spontaneous jam-session in Berlin, without the intention to start a new project. Smallville co-owners Smallpeople aka Dionne & Julius Steinhoff step in with a trippy remix on B1.
Moomin is back on Aim with a beautiful 3- Track EP. The A Side „Beautiful as you are“ starts of with a fierce and somewhat grungy groove, slowly turning into a wonderful dreamy yet joyful piece of house music. „Don‘t fly if it‘s foggy“ and the EPs title track „She said she won‘t be that long away“ on the B-Side are another two brilliant accomplishments in deepness.
Moomin is back with another adventure into charming house music. Like a fountain of sweetness the works of Smallville’s wunderkind are spreading all over the world.
