Steve Rachmad makes his first vinyl shaped appearance of the year on the Wolfskuil imprint, delivering some decidedly alien sounds on “Fruit Of The Room”. Stripped back in its approach, the title tracks commences with an outer galactic analogue rhythm wrapped around tightly wound bass drums and grows with crunching percussive finesse before dropping into the rubbery excellence of the bassline. The flipside “Flute Of The Loom” builds from a droney analogue pulse into a skittering, main room mind alterer of the highest standard.
Benny Rodrigues – I Like Acid [BAO029]
Rotterdam’s Benny Rodrigues’ interpretation of acid house takes the form of ”I Like Acid”, and surely it sounds classic! Acid synth madness like in the old days but with an updated touch. ”Choice” hypnotic appeal will not get unnoticed on the floor, once again a track that finds its strength in the basic structure of its arrangement, effective drums patterns with a ”freakish” top line that carry the track into peak time. Steve Rachmad as ”Sterac” and Mike Dehnert are providing the remixes for ”I Like Acid”, to close the EP.
