Tevo Howard’s Black Electro Orchestra – Cosmopolitan 1987 [TTHRDR024]

The Black Electro Orchestra is an alias of Tevo Howard that was originally meant to be used as a template for other artists to take and use, rearrange, rework, and reiterate.. Respectively, after a first eclectic album, the alias took on the identity of cover songs reiterated as Chicago House and Chicago Electro House tracks.. This album titled Cosmopolitan 1987 does consist of that, 12 covers from classic electronic compositions that paved roads in the 1980s and set the path for electronic composers today….

This Ep features tracks from three of the early days having united with my father over musical ideas. To clarify, my father, Rick Poppa Howard, always enjoys his own hand written vocals over my compositions which are written especially for him. Two of the remixes featured here have been previously released as Beautiful Granville Records’ classics, while track one, Keep Holdin’ On, is to see its first appearance here. We are both proud to be presenting this edition, and we are eagerly anticipating our next reunion… T.H.

Tyrez – Obsession EP [TTHR-DR017]

Tevo Howard turns out four tracks of supple, kinky and sensuous house music under his Tyrez alias last used on a Dolly 12″. Tyrez shows the darker more passionate sides of dance underneath the blanket of Chicago House music. This Ep is no exception as the Ep walks through the extremities that can reside in the emotion of romance. The ‘Bubble’ mix of ‘Obsessions’ is a beauty, programmed with a supremely deft touch for light-feet and liquid hips, whereas ‘Relationship’ gets down to business with a percolating jack rhythm seared by lush guitar lines, and ‘Traditions’ performs pure and subtle Chicago hypnosis.

Here included, are 4 demos and 4 early recordings, which are to remain as the staple sound that crafted the label (Beautiful Granville Records). The 4 demo recordings are the original actual first recordings of these individual compositions fed through a simple mastering sequence. All other recordings here are well in the same, but are not the very first recordings, rather edits made circa 2009, and then fed through a simple master.

Tevo Howard – At All Pursuits [TTHR-DR010]

This album features 7 long form dance tracks, and is as Tevo Howard’s second album to date. The tracks included are to be looked at as sound compositions both as a whole and as their individual parts. In sound design, these tracks are sculpted for the dancer while focusing on metaphoric juxtapositions between the actual text titles of the tracks and their individual sound designs.

FLO Crew – Over These Years & You Won’t Need Me [TTHR-DR007]

First released on Beautiful Granville Records, the band FLO Crew, meaning For Lovers Only Crew, was meant to be an outline for an actual performing band. In Other words, all instruments heard on the FLO Crew recordings were meant to be assigned to instrumentalists, leaving these recordings as, actually, templates of song concepts. Thus, featured here are all instruments composed and recorded by Tevo Howard. Simply put, FLO Crew is Tevo Howard’s funk Band. The Band itself addresses all aspects of romantic love, which includes breakup songs like the one featured here. The band should be considered a funk outfit that pays its own funky way of looking at many genres and tempos. Both tracks in this selection are in their original arrangements and re-mastered.

Tevo Howard – Beautiful Granville Days [TTHR002]

The original theme track for Beautiful Granville Records in its original arrangement as a collectors piece. The track itself is to represent the essence of the beautiful place that is called downtown Granville, from its moody energy to the mode and pace of the people who make up this small neck of the woods in Chicago. As the track is titled Beautiful Granville, it is the original recording that sprung to mind and the very track that started the record label’s name, mood and energy.

Tevo Howard Recordings is the follow up to Beautiful Granville records. “The Drum Machine Man” came to mind from going through international security with drum machines in duffel bags. We hope that you’ll enjoy this new direction and selection, as the motto for this label is to be: ‘Let’s move a timeless wave in spirit and music’.
