Moving in the deep waters of timeless quality house and techno this album showcases the fine taste and production skills of Trevor Deep JR. Seven tracks ranging from cuddly and inviting, with undulating basslines and serene strings to darker, more meaning and atmospheric such as on ‘Kreuzberg.’ There is also airy, spacious stuff with distant piano motifs, fat bottomed acid house, timeless dub and freeform jazz cuts with big trumpets, walking basslines and lush percussive patterns. Closing out on a tender vocal number from legendary Detroit producer vocalist Niko Marks, with inviting Motor City broken soul.

Italian producer & Hot Mix label boss Nick Anthony Simoncino is back with “Some People”, a collaboration with Chicago’s legendary House vocalist Robert Owens.  Simoncino’s 3 original mixes sound just like tracks lifted off lost EP’s straight from the mid 80’s with deep, melancholy synths, driving analogue drum machine sounds and Owen’s yearning vocal performance coming together beautifully while showing off Simoncino’s versatility as a producer. “Some People” is perfect late night House music with a classic sensibility, for the deepest hours of the night or the morning. On remix duties we have the UK’s very own Chamboche who delivers a deep, rolling version of “Some People” keeping things nice and stripped back and adding a dubby quality to his mix while Finnish new school House head Trevor Deep Jr’s “Warehouse Mix” keeps Owen’s vocals right up-front with some killer drum programming and percussion rounding out the EP while keeping the old school vibe firmly anchored to the dance-floor.

Finnish deep house champ Trevor Deep Jr takes a break from releasing for Delsin and his own HPTY imprint to drop this delectable set of jams for Nsyde. There is a distinct dubby lilt to Trevor’s output, and that comes through in abundance with the carefully treated chord that pulses through the core of lead track “Merge”. However that track is still operating in the Basic Channel school of dub, while “Blunted” flips the script to a Rhythm & Sound style romp through rootsy steppers rhythms and choice guitar plucks. “Believe Dub” ramps the energy back up with a housey groove around which cavernous synths can echo and throb, making for a damn fine addition to the tradition of dubwise dance music.
