Having broken the barrier for murky skewed house with his 2014 white label ‘A Place Called Ballacid’, Hungarian scene founder S Olbricht returns with a full album on Lobster Theremin that channels his distinct brand of thumping, sludgy techno, weaving through repetitive drone-laden ambient and Hague-esque escape soundtrack house. ‘For Perfect Beings’ is a sound-palette tour de force, picking ‘n’ mixing tempos and tonal balances that shift throughout each track and side of vinyl. Which strangely starts on a 12″ LP slab and ends with a pseudo ‘bonus’ 10″ two track experiment.

Last but not least we have the track “Disparity” with its fantastic drum programming, wavering pads and keys this a great chill track to get the party going right.
Chinaski’s first solo EP for Uncanny, the Dresden based label. “Rivers Edge” is one hell of a ride through the nightmarish and schizophrenic side of House and Disco music. “Disaster” is a journey through Dark House territory with its Italo-sounds and that catchy synth spiral along the way while “Cash” leans more to the Chicago side of things to merge into a true dance floor killer. The flipside starts things off with “Lifetime” and an uncompromising bass line. When the beat finally kicks in you’re in the game for anything. “Street” hits the same atmospheric spots but with a slightly sweeter topping over it. Finally, the stomping “Never Look Back” is a fun example for that typical neon-shimmering flavour that shines through all of Chinaski’s productions.

For the 8th installment of their record label, Half Baked invite long time friend and Detroit legend Mike Huckaby to join the record label family. He comes with something very special in two rolling deep house tracks presented on a 12-inch picture disc. Both tracks have Mike’s signature touch, jazzy, smooth keys and rolling bass in a way that only Huckaby knows how, he really has delivered once again. Mike’s knowledge of his machines and software shows here as he comes with something super classy for daytime or night.

His own productions are about finding the way to sustain deep mystic atmosphere within signature low-pass rhythm picture. Side B, containing both original and remix of ‘Unknown Numbers’, shows how this approach varies from classy style of Fred P. aka Black Jazz Consortium. Noises EP is the 12th release by Arma.
Deep88 presents his new LP ‘The Black Album’. Derek Carr is a name known by few and far between, with only a handful of vinyl releases in the early 2000s, he built a worthy but unfortunately not widely-spread reputation for putting together stunning deep techno.
