VA – Tri-State EP [CO001]

The Corner is a new imprint from Anthony Parasole. The concept is complete D.I.Y. like the great street labels of the nineties, from Nervous to Rawkus – music with no boundaries! The first track up, ‘Cuttin’ Headz (Tribute)’ is by Nor’Easter which is an ode to the interlude; a tribute track to early nineties Hip-Hop! ‘Times Like This’ by Dj Qu is a fresh, driving, deep and forward moving percussive dance floor thumper. Then there is ‘Tri-State’ by Nor’Easter, a gritty NY Hip-Hop track.

DJ Jus-Ed – Endurance [UQCD044]

Following numerous mix CDs, singles and doublepack vinyl EPs in 2011, jus-Ed begins 2012 with a typically impressive collection of soft-focus deep house with a rugged, floor-friendly edge. As ever, there’s a high musical content (see the haunting acid bass and twinkling pianos of “Confused Passion”), alongside rougher cuts that explore the darker recesses of early morning deep house. Take, for example, the dreamy synths and ice-cold acid of “Trip To Hamburg” or liquid atmospherics of “Mr Pete’s Cribby”. Like the rest of Endurance, they’re inspirationally melodic without losing dancefloor focus.

Sailor Mood / Summed & Dot – The Brick Remixes [ALLINN0116]

New All Inn Records release, featuring a remix dream-team. “The Brick Remixes” sees two of the All Inn family, Sailor Mood and Summed & Dot, receive the remix treatment from DJ Qu and Kassen Mosse. NYC legend Qu gets to grips with “Brick Brick Brick” and builds this house from the very depths, up. Smooth atmospherics flow between rasping hats, gattling-snares and spine-tingling synth notes. Leipzig’s Kassem Mosse takes on the task of reworking “East Brick Wall” and with hi-hats taking centre stage again, turns in a beautifully deep, wintery soundscape of invitingly textured bass and considered keys.

Walt J – Reborn [CURLE-P04]

Classic 1997 house track from Walt J aka Walter Jones. Curle have jumped at the chance to re-issue it and we don’t blame them. Plus they’ve got DJ QU – easily one of the best underground house producers around at the moment – to do one hell of a rework.

DJ Qu – Law [DVR012]

DJ Qu - Law image

New Jersey’s DJ Qu lays down another dancer’s spesh on ‘Law’ backed with Brothers Vibe dub and Sascha Dive remix. This guy basically has the latin deep house shake on lock with a rack of crisp and punchy drums, submerged strings and that innately classical touch that signifies the best of his tracks for Strength Music and Underground Quality. Brothers Vibe reinforce this with a standardised dub mix and Dive takes the pace down for a deeper swingers mix.

Dj Qu – For The Beneath [SMR007]

DJ QU - For The Beneath (Front Cover)

New DJ QU. “Secret Place” is spooky, whispery, smooth as cough syrup, while “Circuit” draws from the acid tradtion, but takes is way deep into outer space..

DJ Qu – Party People Clap [DEC003]

Killer house track with a raw edge. Levon Vincent beats the original with his remix that has a steady dirty house groove with fat claps and layers of sounds. Monotone groove but with a lot of tension.. another club hit for Levon!. Anthony Parasole and Fred P deliver a technoish version and Jus Ed doing a light mix compared to the others with more housier vibes. Stand out release!!
