Dina Summer – Girls Gang LP [IDI021]

Berlin-based synth-wave band Dina Summer returns with their highly anticipated second album ‘Girls Gang’ via Iptamenos Discos. Donning a decadent “dark disco meets EBM” sound, Dina Summer is a collaborative project formed of electro-punk band Frittenbude member Kalipo and dark disco DJ & producer duo Local Suicide. The new album is a versatile collection of 11 tracks that delve into themes such as empowerment („No More Tears“ & „Girls Gang“), outsiderhood („Alien“ & „Zombie“), impermanence („Promise featuring Curses and Joshua Murphy“), nostalgia („Halkidiki“), and relationships („Nothing To Hide“ & „Hypnotized“). While their debut album was characterized by its club-centric sound, drawing from Italo disco and ’90s electro influences, this new release explores a richer palette of new wave, post-punk, and synth-pop.

SIIE – Cité Lunaire [CTM]

“Cité Lunaire” seamlessly blends EBM and synthpop to create a sonic journey between dream and reality. The lyrics, both poetic and introspective, explore the desire to escape the “chains of existence” and lose oneself in a parallel reality. The dense electronic production, with cold synths and powerful beats, enhances the feeling of drifting and intensity. Accompanied by an electro remix by Panthera, this version adds a dynamic touch with punchy beats. “Cité Lunaire” invites both introspection and escape, through a modern and mesmerizing soundscape.

La Nuit Je Mens – Teatro Del Metapresente LP [RASLP002]

‘Teatro Del Metapresente’ is the debut album by La Nuit Je Mens, a duo hailing from the Parisian suburbs and southern Italy. Now based in Rome, the two artists (Asymetrical & Rawmance) have crafted a striking sound that merges their DIY ethos with raw, unfiltered energy. Driven by synthetic, minimalist rhythms created on a fleet of analog machines, the seven tracks pay homage to the sound of the ’80s – yet entirely forward-looking and embracing the dancefloor modernity. Blending genres such as EBM, synth-pop and minimal-cold-wave, paired with French vocals, the album delves into themes of underground activities, the slow decay of the club scene and the depths of emotional yearning.

Soft acid lines flutter across the mix, perfectly sitting on either side of the punctual snare. ‘Context Abuse’ bursts open the second half of the EP with defined bass and the distinct clattering of rimshots. Nicolas Balmer – Nein Nein [LXRC51]

Nicolas Balmer hails from Zürich and he is an integral part of the underground alternative music scene there since forever. This record was entirely written, produced and recorded by Nicolas at Zimmerlistrasse in Zürich, between the 21st and 29th of December 2023. A time where everything that could have happen just happened. He poured all that pain and drive into this. The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure.

JG Outsider – Despierto LP [CT184]

After a long period of inactivity, during which he recharged his batteries for his return to music production, JG Outsider took up the challenge of recording his first solo album in this new phase of his musical career. EBM, industrial sounds, post-punk songs with his own vocals and high-level collaborations make up this work. It is undoubtedly a musically mature album that shows the identity of this chameleon-like artist with a career spanning more than 30 years. The album also includes great remixes by Nightcrawler Music and Spammerheads as well as a collaboration with Ruth García/From Hell.

The Strangler Of The Swamp / Bande Berne Crematoire – Eine Aufnahme voller widerlicher Verderbtheit [LXRC50]

Throughout the 1980s, Michael Antener, born and raised in Bern, Switzerland, initiated an array of sonic endeavours in the realm of industrial, dark, aggressive music. The triple vinyl release is all about documenting Michael Antener’s adventures during that intense 1980s period, comprising materials from vinyl records, cassettes, and live recordings, some of it unreleased. The release also includes a deep dive into Michael’s visual archive of posters, photos, and sleeve artworks. The disjointed, tumultuous body of work presented here marks the testament of a fringe musician who was disruptive and confrontational, keen to shock and alarm people (much to our liking), and who could easily have been lost in oblivion.

VA – Trust the Rust Vol. 2 [KRI009]

Trust the Rust is back with a vengeance. The second compilation by Kri Records takes up where the previous one left off: rusty electro, occult wave, distorted acid and melancholic EBM. Alonzo opens the release with his signature 808 bass, Hayter pushes pitched-down vocals and filthy electro vibe further, while Chino delivers a diabolical ravey EBM banger. Serbian duo YusYus marches on with an authoritative synth anthem Masters Of The Future and Disco Morato finishes the A side with a hypnotic slow burner Ultime. B Side opens with a bang by Parand, followed by arctic electro mist crafted by System Disorder (aka Dj Nephil). Marco Segato smoothly blended electro and jungle with the track Subconscious, Zagreb collective Lab Personnel’s dark stomper might evoke fist pumps on the floor, while E.L.I.’s nostalgic piece Atonal Being rounds the release.
