Initially slated for release in 2019, in the innocent days before the pandemic, the debut release from new label Crudo Ricordi is finally ready for the streets. Three formidable edits from Beard In Dust (AKA Lipelis), all aimed at peaktime dancefloor action. The title track “Señor Paraíso” might sound familiar to some hardcore Italo fans, but this pumped up and extended version hits much harder in the club. The two b-side tracks “Kirkorovmoroder” and “Coconut Paradise” could be recognised by only the most seasoned of USSR synth-pop connoisseurs, both tracks featuring totally addictive and ecstatic melodies.

Arşivplak presents Anatolian Funk by Beynelmilân, an album with a very unique psychedelic sound influenced by Turkish psychedelic folk and has a cool funky feel at times with disco folk driven rhythms with electric saz riffs. Toy Tonics regulars and Munich based House & Disco specialists Coeo step up for their ‘Dance Routines’ on the vinyl-only Resista. On the A side is a Gabonese Boogie weapon with a beyond funky bassline and body-rocking drums mixed with an amazing vocal, triumphant horns and syncopated guitar hits.
Over on the B1, a rolling Giorgio Morode-esque Disco synth bass is layered with jacking Proto House drums and Arabic chanting for a track that wouldn’t be amiss in a Hot Mix 5 show. Finally the B2 whips up a percussion frenzy with a deep droning bass stab and a hypnotic call and response vocal.

Mick Wills is no stranger to Frigio Records, the German Dj and producer has turned his hand to edits and remixes on previous releases and now arrives with his own 12” of edits for the volumen 4th of the label’s Ecdisis series. The source material for the two pieces on offer comes from Brazil’s Simbolo, a band formed in 1988 and still active with a career spanning more than thirty years, was a central player in South America’s EBM and Synth scene. MIck Wills has selected two tracks from the Brazilian’s back catalogue, the first being “Mind.” Industrial influences come immediately to the fore, complex drum patterns give way to a juddering groove in which guttural vocals depict a scene of hurt and pain. “Synchrono” occupies the flip. Taken from the 1995 album, In the Danger Zone, the original two minute piece is extended into a seven plus minute epic. Following on from “Mind”, “Synchrono” melts stuttering bass-lines and textured percussion with indecipherable lyrics counter-balancing heady strings. Two cuts of emotive and impacting electronics.
