Acid Avengers are back with a new split EP with four bangers from two French. Coming from east of France (dynArec) as well as west coast (Captain Mustache), the two froggies deliver here four acid tunes for the floor, with an intense sexual groove and firmly designed to get your body moving.
Captain Mustache is stepping forth with a new release on Return To Disorder, kicking off with the massive ‘Danger’ featuring certifiable legend Paris The Black Fu on vocal duties. ‘Floorwax’ is also packing some club scene clout into its electro fantasy, with the mighty Foremost Poets sneaking some spooky lyrics into the mix. On the flip, ‘Floorwax’ gets remixed by Cardopusher and Hrdvision, who respectively jack the track up and freak it right out, widening the scope of the record without leaving the seedy ambience Return To Disorder prefers to lurk in.
From virtual obscurity to the top of the game, Captain Mustache has seen a meteoric rise with a plethora of high profile releases and collaborations displaying his signature aesthetic. Ranging from electro to indie infused electro clash, his talent is varied and shines true with this brand new double pink vinyl 12″ LP on the American Science Cult imprint. With already stellar productions, some of electronic music’s heroes are featured as collaborators or vocalists including the legendary K-1 of AUX 88, Dave Clarke, dynArec, and Hiroki Esashika.
Summer kicks off with ‘How Come U Know’, a 4-track EP by accomplished producer and DJ Captain Mustache from Paris. For this EP, he teams up with rave legend Adamski and electro goth star Linda Lamb. Title track ‘How Come U Know’ is an electro rave basher featuring Adamski’s vocals and cheeky lyrics about the all-seeing eye and loss of privacy. On ‘Bliss’, the deep and esoteric voice of Linda Lamb takes us to another world without possession – electro wave in optima forma. The remaining two tracks on ‘How Come U Know’ showcase Captain Mustache’s crispy electro pop sound, made to dance all summer long.
Captain Mustache is a DJ and producer with some fifteen years as a label manager. He arrives on Bordello A Parigi with a unique blend of electro spiked disco. The Parisian lands with a four tracker guaranteed to leave bodies and speakers aching with joy. Teaming up with Paul Play on vocals, “Special Friend” is a purely nocturnal affair. Smokey words sail above crisp percussion as laser beam synthlines lance a haze of early morning light. “Rhythm 55” is built on bold beats, the Captain slowly unfurling a sparkling melody that glimmers and shines next to burbling acid-tinged bass. A generous introduction gives way to toms and snipping snares for “Jean-Michel”, a beautiful tribute to synthesizer master Jean-Michel Jarre. Bright and clean, the track is steeped in a future-gazing optimism that palpably echoes through its vocoder. “Space Jowblob” brings our odyssey with Captain Mustache to a close, astral chords and beaming bars washed in starlight.
