Function aka Dave Sumner returns with the new version and supreme techno affair that is ‘Variance’. Moody in the extreme, this release finally comes with the kicking and slightly acidic B-side it always deserved without sinking into the predictable mire of dub techno.
Sandwell District – Feed-Forward [SD2X1201]
International techno collective and record label Sandwell District release their debut studio album. Feed-Forward, features previously unreleased techno cuts by the three central Sandwell artists – Dave Sumner as Function, Karl O’Connor as Regis and Juan Mendez as Silent Servant, with additional input from Female. A trademark, highly effective array of big industrial beats, off-kilter riffs and icy strings can be expected.

Kero & Function – Function Kero EP [DETUND013]
Rugged bass and techno transmission from Kero and Function with remixes from Soundmurderer, Corbin Davis and Matt Herdman. Firstly, we should warn you that the Soundmurderer track is a baaadman tune! He reworks his angular jungle style at a dubstep pace but still retains the dipping flex and contrasting breaks tones for sick effect. Corbin Davis gives a bass-loaded techno fix while Kero and Function go hard on the breakbeat techno to sound like British Murder Boys.
