Vercetti Technicolor – Black September Tape [GDLP001TAPE]

Vercetti Technicolor’s fictitious soundtrack to the 1972 Munich Massacre, is a bleak, cold and somber work. Partly inspired by the 1999 Documentary by Kevin Macdonald, Vercetti creates a tense and brooding approach to this, the most darkest of subject matter. This is far from dancefloor material, this is doom-electronics at it’s most frightening. Giallo Disco is proud to present our first LP, Vercetti Technicolor’s Black September, closer to minimal wave than Moroder and all the better for it. Remixes come from Mexico’s PLAYTONTO and Creme Organization signing’s Francesco Clemente. Limited to 100 copies, first time on cassette for our very first LP by Vercetti Technicolor. Pro duplicated with re-edited artwork by Eric Adrian Lee.

Vercetti Technicolor – Hard Pill EP [GD025]

Label co-founder Vercetti Technicolor returns to Giallo Disco with the soundtrack to the psychedelic neon-soaked slasher short Hard Pill, directed by writer-director Daniel Freedman. The title track’s dark romance is epic suspense and moodlighting reminiscent of the great John Carpenter while B side electro cut “Voice Of Darkness” goes down the same gothic brooding path as Visonia. It all comes to a thrilling climax on the slow burning closer “She Does” full on rich vintage synth flar, ricocheting Linn drums drenched in gated reverb and the most razor sharp arpeggios you’ll ever hear.

Vercetti Technicolor & Antoni Maiovvi – Lost Apocalypse EP [VIVOD010]

Vercetti Technicolor and Antoni Maiovvi join the Vivod fold for this last release in their series of limited screen prints. Conveniently timed for Halloween the two horror artists who co run the impressive Giallo Disco imprint don their skills to Ali Renault’s label, giving us cover versions of some known film scores with an additional original track from each for good measure. The result is an impressive horror disco record all round.

Giallo Disco Records presents their first release Black Gloves EP. Between Berlin and Vienna, Giallo Disco Records is a new label dedicated to the sub-sub-genre of Horror Disco. Gianni Vercetti’s macabre soundtracks are presented with lashings of VHS grain. ‘L’Incubo Senza Fine’ is dripping with tension, a relentless kick drum thud like the march of the undead themselves. Legowelt’s remix only adds to this, calling on the sound of his most recent collection ‘The Teac Life’. Antoni Maiovvi’s Rituals Of Lust is a 98bpm dark EBM/New Beat-esque stomper. Retro-space age futurism, battleships preparing for war near the moons of Jupiter. Themroc(k)’s would perhaps be the perfect music for a malfunctioning T-800, demented vocals a-go-go. Dark brooding action soundtracks for a bleak tomorrow.
