Closing the Vivod map series is Alessandro Parisi with this stunning EP, ‘Belmont’s Revenge’. 3 tracks in his slo-mo horror jak trade mark style. ‘Crossfire’ kicks things off nicely with it’s pulsing groove followed by ‘Ravens’, a slower, brooding type of soundtrack. Flip over for a remix of ‘Sages’ by the mighty Mick Wills who has done some nice work here. It builds and builds, perfect for getting lost in the fog and strobe. B2 is the original version from Parisi, a much slower, majestic cathedral horror affair.

Skatebård – Forgotten Woods EP [VIVOD012]
New EP from Skatebård on Vivod. A mixed bag from the prolific Norwegian producer showing us why he’s still at the top of his game. “Maskindans” kicks things off with some speak & spell funk followed by “Hissige Helger”, a brooding Chicago style banger sure to tear up some discoteques across the planet. On the flip are “Langbolgen” and Gloymde Skogar. The former is an acid style work out, the latter is more of a subtle, hypnotyizing opus. All very strong tracks.
Paul Withey – No Rain No Rainbow EP [VIVOD013]
Vivod welcome Paul Withey to the fold for a slice of his funk tinged repertoire. With recent tracks on Birmingham’s Ruby Hills & Diamond Mountain and a remix for Future Unit’s Tusk Wax release, this should be a telling year for Mr Withey.
Monkeyshop – Island Of Love EP [VIVOD014]
After a hiatus of 11 years it appears Monkeyshop are using the Vivod portal for their current works, this being their 2nd EP for Ali Renault’s imprint. Title track Island of Love is a melodious sprawling opus perfect for keeping the summer vibes going all year round and takes the whole of side A. Side B has 2 more cuts. Heartbreak is another disco pulser and the final track is Island of Love given a brilliant rework treatment from fellow Swede electroist Obergman.
Photonz – Lotus Wheel On My Orion [VIVOD011]
Vivod move into their next series of releases with Portuguese maestro Photonz at the helm. A 4 tracker of dark house that effortlessly slip into the label catalogue entitled Lotus Wheel On My Orion. Beautiful packaging again this time with full printed sleeve.
Vercetti Technicolor & Antoni Maiovvi – Lost Apocalypse EP [VIVOD010]
Vercetti Technicolor and Antoni Maiovvi join the Vivod fold for this last release in their series of limited screen prints. Conveniently timed for Halloween the two horror artists who co run the impressive Giallo Disco imprint don their skills to Ali Renault’s label, giving us cover versions of some known film scores with an additional original track from each for good measure. The result is an impressive horror disco record all round.
Emile Strunz & Iron Blu – EP [VIVOD005]
Ali Renault’s Vivod label drops its best disco assault yet: a darkside double header from Newcastle’s Emile Strunz and Intergalactic FM regular/Flight Recorder boss, Iron Blu. From his studio overlooking the North Sea, Strunz follows ace issues for Tusk Wax and World Unknown with a proper body-rockin’ chugger meshing mystic, orientalist synthlines with steely 111bpm Belgian New Beat rhythms on the front. Iron Blu complements this with a more sensuous, spaced-out flipside working like a medicated EBM groove or Pye Corner Audio’s darkwave panoramas.
NCW & Piss – Golden Lands EP [VIVOD002]
Second 12″ from Ali Renault’s limited boutique imprint, Vivod. Featuring the talents of NCW, this is moody, downbeat synth music.
