Alan Hurst – Nzambi LP [ERS001]

The debut release on Emotional Response comes from Alan Hurst – aka Brooklyn based producer Jason Letkiewicz – with a deeper exploration in to the experimental, ambient electronics first seen on his debut work ‘Processed World’. The results are a darker mixture of hypnotic rhythms and uncertain soundscapes, hinting at soundtrack and library forms. Known for his productions under a series of alias’, including Steve Summers and Innergaze, this is Jason’s sophomore album under his Alan Hurst moniker and is the perfect way to launch the label.

Innergaze – Mutual Dreaming LP [CITI005]

Minimal Wave sublabel Cititrax, presents new music from Brooklyn based synth duo Innergaze, the musical project of Aurora Halal and Jason Letkiewicz. Their music, crushed and static, obscured by sound. EBM, coldwave, early techno fight it out for dominance of the drum machine. Casually brutal vocals force their way through from the Death Factory. Celestial synths coexisting with the industrial landscape bellow.

Two Dogs In A House – Dogs Anthem [DISCOSTRES]

Two Dogs In A House is Steve Summers and Ron Morelli (L.I.E.S) meanest project to date. Rising from the delay saturated muck, pushing the red, straight forward and to the point with no time to waste, these Brooklyn dogs started with a simple modus operandi as to make effective, psychedelic tracks. This 12” is an statement by itself, sounding more experimental and raw, it evokes Chicago, Detroit, and Industrial Records equally.

Innergaze – Shadow Disco [SILK008]

100% Silk return with another exceedingly alluring drop, this time from Aurora Halal and Jason Letkiewicz aka Innergaze. Lithe, sexy post-punk disco is the vibe, NYC in 1981/2011 is the setting for ‘Shadow Disco’, strutting to languid dub bassline and preening synth flashes, before ‘Way Of Life’ retires to the balcony to ahem, powder one’s nose and gaze out at glittering harbour lights dancing off glass-curtained high rises. Soon enough the seductive, panther-purring bassline, cooing big-haired women and rippling rototoms of ‘Hypnogogisco’ beckons us back to the middle of the floor and the chick with the biggest hair asks ‘What’s Your Body Doing Tonight’, only it comes out all syrupy slow and you realise you shouldn’t have necked that pint of GHB.
Steve Summers – Mode for love EP [LIES006]

Jason Letkiewicz aka Steve Summers latest EP moves forward from his previous efforts touching upon the seedier and more jacking side of what New York City House music once was. Bringing to mind images of a more dangerous and exciting city where crackheads roamed free, hookers hooked, fiends copped bags and music existed as a reactionary reflection of its surroundings. Directly influenced by these times, Summers took his arsenal and concocted an emotional four song record that nods to this period as well as foreshadows the impending doom of a city wrapped in an airtight bubble.
