Lerosa – Private View EP [WAKEUP!004]

LEROSA - Private View

Lerosa takes his unique approach on house even further. Private View is exactly what its title promises: an exclusive visit into a enigmatic and fascinating world of groove and sound. It’s full of puzzling places and mysterious events. Delicate arrangements and artful sound combinations amount to a unique record without turning to caprice or flourish. Simplicity that makes sense.

BNJMN/AROY DEE/LEROSA/METROPOLIS/PERSEUS TRAXX/TR ONE - Fields Of Light

‘Fields Of Light’ is an ambitious compilation release containing 6 tracks by BNJMN, Aroy Dee, Lerosa, Metropolis, Perseus Traxx and Tr One, that focuses on other qualities than the usual style-similarities. Here, the focus has been put on some other aspect; their soulful and melancholic nature. On each side 15 minutes of dreamily emotive and sometimes alienating works from these 6 producers have been pressed. Some of them appeared earlier on Photic Fields, others are new here. Among these works you’ll find a deep and multilayered sonic excursion (by BNJMN), a dark, futuristic and movie-inspired piece (by Metropolis) and an emotion-drenched late 80’s inspired house music-cut (by Perseus Traxx). Each of these tracks may have their moment to be played, some might work on dancefloors while other are ‘just’ for the home-listener. But a true sentimentalist should find these moments.

LEROSA - Woman Flew Home EP

Photic Fields’ next release comes from another (Italy born) Irishman, Lerosa. He’s always exploring the edges of house, techno and electro to create something new. With this record he also explores the emotive side of things, in a rough edged and analogue way. The record starts off with ‘some things endure’, an introspective piece with a deep and dark synth pad. ‘Nebula Raider’ breaks open the record with its euphoric feel and acid hints. On the b-side you’ll find two joyful cuts: the uplifting ‘dream of flight’, and the closing track of the record, ‘postmodern’, with its playful keys and emotive synth tones.

Lerosa – No Mad Rush [APT002]

LEROSA - No Mad Rush

Apartment’s 3rd release comes courtesy of acclaimed producer Lerosa. He delivers 4 electro-based cuts, a rarely seen side to the man predominantly known for his house productions. The sparse and melancholic “Combat” starts off proceedings, before “Titanium”’s throbbing bass, combined with Mr. Rosa’s unique melodic sensibilities, increases the pace. On the B-side “Slavery” is a furious acid jam, constantly rising in energy over hectic percussion and a wall-shaking electro beat. Finishing on “Decisions”, the pace is reduced considerably while the acid stays intact.

Lerosa – Amanatto LP [UZURI016]

LEROSA - Amanatto

Debut album for both the artist as the Uzuri label! “Amanatto” remains true to what Lerosa’s best known for – deftly-produced house music that conveys maximum emotion whilst exercising classy restraint. Some new ground is covered, too – most notably on the vocal tracks, produced in collaboration with The Oliverwho Factory. Musically, there are hints of melancholy, but it’s by no means a brooding album. Amanatto contains some of the lushest compositions Lerosa has produced to date – his beloved clean tones sounding warm, accentuated by the aforementioned vocals.

The number 13 maybe considered unlucky by some, but not so for Italians. Fittingly, for Uzuri 013 we welcome back Leopoldo Rosa aka Lerosa for his third release on the label – his first being back in 2007 on Uzuri 001. This new 12 inch precedes his forthcoming full length release for the label.
