The Blech – Wosto Ajustements [MME30003]

For the first release coming in 2017 Macadam Mambo strikes very hard with a very special EP of radical dance music by the German band The Blech revisited by Hambourg’s based artist Wosto. The Blech released 6 LP between 1985 and 1996. Their albums have become a treasure-trove of extravagant, groovy dance hall artistry. The forcefulness with which The Blech flung their conviction from the stage into the audience was at once hypnotic, irritating and erotic. Here Wosto has selected two tracks from the Zip Zip LP originally released in 1987 (Nichts Wie Vorher and Zip Zip) and one from the Ich Wollte Meine Schuhe Zerschneiden LP (Die Einame Trane) released in 1989, and transform them into strong powerfull dancefloor cuts. Be sure of the efficient of the product, no need to talk more, let the music speak by itself.Special mention for the magnificient artwork of Lyon’s based artist Hugo Charpentier from the Mauvaise Foi collective.

Mori Ra – Sleeping Industry [MME7007]

Japanese editor Mori Ra returns with four more perplexing, wonderfully obscure edits on Macadam Mambo; “Acid Indonesia” is an overwhelming experience laced with toxic percussion, gritty bass and buried harmonies. “Canoe Tamburi Sacri” retains the heavy percussive focus while flipping the mood switch for something much slower and meditative. “Sleeping Industry” is the most cosmic number on the release with an array of synths vying for our attention over a wind chime rhythms while “Tsuru-Kame Hinadisco” brings us back into reality with harmonic chimes, steel drums and more dubby overlays than a Kingston cutting house.

Albion – Pyramids [MME5005]

Albion, the “continental Disco” King, is back on Macadam Mambo with a new EP, reinforcing, with those 4 killer nuggets, that he is definitely the boss to put out weirdo obscurities. And giving us again, the feeling that the level of the tracks is getting higher record after record.

Dunkeltier – Rising [MME4004]

Dresden don Dunkeltier (aka Sneaker aka Gino ‘Der Hammer’ Galan) is next up on the Macadam Mambo flex, dipping into his personal armoury of EBM, industrial and post punk favourites for a premium set of edits. If you dug his Rat Life edits this year or got blown away by a Traxx session then you will definitely levitate towards the sounds here as Dunkeltier tweaks Kozmonaut, Absolute Body Control and EM. Do check the mind altering Phase Adjustment of “Tanzmusik” from cult Belgian crew Absolute Body Control which is exactly the sort of fizzing power electronics that will provide a welcome deviation into absolute beat down territory for the more adventurous selectors.

3 stunning edits made by the master of European Disco: Albion Venables from Sweden. Just a quick description of the tracks, Disco Mambo is as you can imagine, a Disco Mambo track clearly dedicated to the label. Hear The Night comes from an obscure Italian record with some French Vocals in it. And The Mirror Forrest is a beautiful electronic tune coming from an Italian Library record.
