Nagano native Yoshiki Tsuchiya AKA Miruga’s roots are deeply embedded in jazz music. His studies included jazz and funk drumming as well as the catalog of the legendary Strata-East label. Miruga presents four emotionally deep cuts which fit perfectly on Moods & Grooves.

Rounding out this iteration of the Moods & Grooves classic series are two of its best selling releases from one of Detroit’s most prolific producer’s, Theo Parrish, and label head Mike Grant. The Mr. G remix of My Soul, My Spirit nets a pretty penny at the online marketplace so if the steep prices have deterred you, now is the time. Chunky was produced during the time Theo was a leader of Detroit’s raw & dirty house sound. In celebration of the Moods & Grooves’ 50th release it’s being offered on limited coloured vinyl.

Nice moody deep melodic techno tracks on Detroits Moods & Grooves records. Ploiesti Romania area childhood friends Andu Simion, Dan Gheorghe and Bogdan Ardeleanu are inspired by Detroit’s house sound and Berlin’s techno. Their resulting collaboration is best described as “deep techno” and their first release is appropriately on Moods & Grooves known for pushing both envelopes. ‘Les sons de la Lisière’ is a reflection of the beauty and silence of nature found in the suburbs of Ploiesti.

The fourth installment of the classics series features two of the label’s most successful artists Kenny Dixon Jr. and Rick Wade. KDJ’s untitled tracks were previously issued as a limited pressing so here’s your chance to get one if you missed out the first time. Longtime and well respected deep house soldier Rick Wade is featured on the flip side with two classic deep house offerings from his first appearance on Moods & Grooves.

Several years in the making Mike Grant finally completes the second Cool Peepl project. Originally assembled in 2002 for the Puzzlebox Sharevari remixes, Cool Peepl is a collection of Detroit artists coming together for a session. Focusing less on machine based tracks, the group focuses on organic productions. “Free” features former Members of the House vocalist Bill Beaver, longtime percussionist Sundiata O.M. and the multi-talented heavyweight Amp Fiddler. Andres comes with the remix.

Part 3 of 5 in the classic series features material previously released (Andres and John Tejada & Arian Leviste) on the M&G CD compilation “Beneath the Surface” but never pressed on vinyl. Also featured are planned but unreleased nuggets from Brad Peterson and Ewan Jansen.

Recorded in South Africa and featuring on vocals South Africa’s legendary artist/ producer Bantu Soul. Ngizo Ku Linda sees Alton fusing elements of afro house, jazz, funk and his signature Detroit sound with a serious groove and lush but yet wanting vocals of Bantu Soul. The release also includes a remix from Chicago’s Abicah Soul.

Moods & Grooves is proud to feature Maltese deep house masters Owen Jay & Melchior Sultana. This duo specializes in a distinctive blend of influences similar to the background of the Maltese republic.

The second edition of Moods And Grooves Classics, this time from Mr. G & G. Flame and Demarkus Lewis.

The 1st release in a series of reissues from the Moods & Grooves catalogue. Andrés – Out in the Open and Mike Grant – The Struggle of My People (Mr. G’s There’s Hope Mix).

Moods & Grooves has an exciting release from Kyle, with some fresh early works! Three phat grooving track track each with its own exquisite quality and soulfulness.

Scrolling back a few years, Mood & Grooves present one of the very earliest (and digital only) Kyle Hall releases for the first time ‘pon wax. ‘The Water Is Fine’ was produced roughly around the same time as his FXHE debut so what you’re hearing is a lovely snapshot of a producer in near-embryonic form. ‘Create Your Existence’ makes a cautious start, taking its time to warm up with silken chords before dropping a thick house beat and sparkling keys. ‘Tomorrow Is The Day’ is nothing short of a stunning house track, the sort of gear you’d expect to hear from Shake in his prime (when in fact this guy was 17 when he wrote it!), and finally ‘One Ribbon’ sails home on a kinked shuffle of raw percussion and head-melting interstellar jazz keys. Lovely.
