Some more quality techno by Madrid’s Jose Cabrera who is having a mighty good run of releases at the moment, we must say. This inaugurates his new label. It’s bleeping and majestic Jeff Mills style techno that’s the flavour on “Exodus”. “J1” by NX1 though is a tribute to? You guessed it: Robert Hood. This time with cyclical and entrancing synth stabs and claps on the kick, and a fine tribute we must say.

Tadeo – The Close Encounter [MPS008]
Micropunto Schallplatten is back with a release reuniting two different generations of Spanish techno in an epic release signed by Tadeo with a rework from NX1. Spanish techno legend Tadeo gives us three tracks of his signature outer space techno starting with Vortex, a techno burner that brings us to a journey into the realms of space with a very futuristic sound but built over classic sounds from the past. Translacion works with different elements building up a track with a fast pace that reminds us of great Hood or Mills productions. NX1 remix of Vortex is a darker, heavier version of the original that reminds us of Birmingham’s more industrial take on techno. The Gate works as a perfect outro to this EP.
Surit & Samot – NX1 [NX101]
NX1 is a Surit and Samot project and a sub-label of the upcoming Nexe Records. Nexe means ”Nexus” in Catalan language, Nexe is a link with the music and the scene. Nexe gets involved with the techno and its origins, adding experiences, vision and evolution. Nexe is a union between music, visual and graphic arts. Nexe is the junction between those who sympathize doctrine and help to expand it. Nexe is above all, an independent electronic music label.
