The 2022 edition of the Ombra Festival will start tomorrow in Barcelona, with a location change. The festival program was suppose to take place for the last time at UTOPÍA 126, but the new owners of the location canceled in September Ombra’s reservation. Probably this beautiful industrial relic will make space for something more modern and cost efficient construction.Continue reading “Ombra 2022”

Ombra is a project born from the hand of agency Ombra Agency and label Oraculo Records with the aim of creating a meeting place for lovers of analogue and avant-garde sounds that do not fit in the current cultural offer. The first edition was held in May 2018 in a club format, bringing together musical styles such as EBM, darkwave and industrial/experimental sounds.
In 2019 the festival took place in different areas of the city with industrial aesthetics. The idea is to combine heritage with music by creating a circuit in different spaces that can accommodate different offers. 2020 is definitely not a good year for artists, clubs, festivals or arts in general. Because of the lock-down generated by the Covid-19 pandemic clubs are closed and festivals are canceled every week. Sadly, two of the most interesting electronic music festivals had last year their last edition, Nachtdigital near Leipnitz and Strange Sounds From Beyond in Amsterdam. But, here are the electronic music festivals that we recommend this year in Europe. Hopefully the lock-down will not close this summer and some of these festivals will go on.
We were very excited when, somewhere between July/August, we heard about Ombra festival and soon after we bought the tickets for the festival.
This was actually the first extended edition of the festival, since last year they just had a party in a club with 500 people, so we must consider ourselves really lucky for taking part in this.
At the end of this month we will be heading to Barcelona for one of the most interesting electronic music festivals. Ombra is a project born from the hand of agency WeareWe and label Oraculo Records with the aim of creating a meeting place for lovers of analogue and avant-garde sounds that do not fit in the current cultural offer.
