Dalmata Daniel presents the new album by Dutch West Coast mid-veteran Roberto Auser. Auser (born Derk Reneman) has been into cinematic (or b-videomatic) electro for more than a decade now, with releases on Viewlexx, Pinkman, Gooiland Electro/Enfant Terrible and more, ranging from atmospheric and hypnotic to tight and grim, but always loaded with a vision of a storyteller. In a Dutch way, for sure. Though “Second Sun” is, again, an audiovisual trip, that’s not the primary concept here – it’s probably the purest album-like experience of Robert Auser so far, presenting most of his characteristics and sounds, and also new elements, still, all are coherent and organic parts of Reneman’s projective language of electronics.

Undersound Recordings announce the first cassette release on the label. The tape contains a 27 minutes live jam session by Wedding Acid Group, recorded at Ballacid Studio in 2016. This rare recording was made to check and memorize the patterns for live situations, jamming on analog machines, such as Elektron Monomachine, Mutable Instruments Shruthi 1, Cyclone Analogic TT-303 and Roland TR-909. The tape allows to listen to the recording uninterrupted, from beginning to end, with which the energy of WAG comes into full effect.
Almost two years after the second volume landed in record stores, Oliver Ho AKA Broken English Club has finally delivered the third and final instalment in his White Rats trilogy of albums. In keeping with its predecessors, the album sees Ho exploring a mixture of politically charged ambient compositions, post-apocalyptic electronic soundscapes, mind-altering industrial grooves and gnarled, post-punk influenced workouts. As you’d expect given Ho’s track record, the album sounds authentically dystopian, updating the Cold War era paranoia of early industrial music for a new century. Highlights include the acid-flecked industrial-electro number ‘Alone In The Hunt’, the strobe-lit EBM heaviness of ‘The Kill’, the creepy ambience of ‘The Burned The Villages’ and the clandestine, slow-motion stylishness of ‘Love Cuts Deeper’.
BLIQ is back with a milestone 20th release after 10 years running, on a signature cosmic transmission through Space Culture Vol. 2. Four tracks from Conforce, Ehohroma, Iakovos and Kon001.
Finnish Inceptum Records returns powerfully with this electro & detroit techno oriented four-tracker from the label boss Forehard. The A-side begins with a dreamy title track that takes you to the deep and rolling sounds of the motor city. A-side ends with an epic acid electro with tasty bassline and melancholic melodies which gives light into darkness. The first track of B-side is an iconic and powerful melodic techno track. Safe warm pads, percussive drum work and chicago style bassline combines it all into one. Last track of this ep is totally dancefloor burner, which shows producer’s many-sided talent.
Morphology return to Cultivated Electronics with the follow up to their 2017 EP ‘Mind Stealers’ (CE023). ‘The Dark Wheel EP’ marks their fourth EP for Sync 24’s label. Morphology are Finnish duo Michael Diekmann and Matti Turunen. Formed in 2009, Morphology fuse early electro sounds with haunting melodies to create a deep blend of atmospheric future funk, and their new EP ‘The Dark Wheel’ is no exception, as they deliver four tracks of faultless production technique, warm synths and crisp drum-work.
Probably the poppiest release on Return To Disorder yet by French Electro legend dynArec. The most danceable machine funk you can imagine.
The first Modal Analysis release for 2021 comes from the New York City producer, Greg Schappert, who has been releasing his music under different aliases over the years. Here, with his SC-164 moniker, contributes a five track EP of industrial flavored electro, perfectly rolling along with the Athenian label’s catalogue. The Generator EP brings together different broken beat compositions, with emphasis on diverse textures and its genius programming.
Second release for this Brussels based organization (Label and parties) run by False Identity. This one focuses on dark and powerful electro, clanging industrial techno and techno body music straight for the dancefloor.
Caron debuts on Shipwrec with a four tracker of sheer quality. Off-kilter percussion introduces the breathy pads and grandeur of “Ancestry,” a piece of dreamy chords and acid undertones. The haunting “Common Sense” follows. Drums stagger next spectral vocals in this chilling electro piece. A similar stalking note continues on the flip with the 303 soaked “Lost.” A steady kick offers a bedrock from which looming keys, bitter squawk and dancefloor paranoia take hold. Hopeful shades arrive with the brilliance of “Ruins.” From industrial percussion and metallic rinses, a deep and intricate finale forms to bring “Shattered” to a terrific close.

The raves at Same Bitches have not changed much since back in March 2014 at OHM, Berlin. Every second month on the first Saturday at noon sharp the residents Handmade, Ron Wilson, Derek Plaslaiko, VCO and Manuela Mayoral play each a three hour set and after everyone is through the Dj who warmed up goes into the next round continuing the running order with the usual ending in a full on back-to-back orgy. The occasional special guest never gets announced, it is mainly the same bitches in charge. After seven years it has come to the point of expanding the realm and the crew decided on releasing a record. The tracks of the first Same Bitches record featuring Handmade, VCO, Ron Wilson and Derek Plaslaiko represent their diverse yet homogenous sound of the parties and arrive just on time for their anniversary in March. Hopefully soon the party can continue and we can all enjoy the music and dance together again…
Foreign Policy is the electronic music project of Berlin based artist Thomas Ricard, co-founder of the Area Z collective. ”Watching Existence” marks his debut release as well as his first 12”, a six track journey of scorched electro industrial & techno body music operating as a conduit for his social observations on the modern condition, human rights and civil liberties. The 12″ EP also includes a remix by SARIN.
