VA – Dalmata Daniel eats Lahmacun [DDC04]

Pure energy shines through the latest Dalmata Daniel compilation, where all producers gathered together for a good cause. Lockdowns and social distancing practices are slowly easing up in the luckier half of the world, yet local producers and clubs are still facing a hard ongoing period of no live shows with a non-existing club culture. As a result, web-based platforms are more important than ever. The Lahmacun community radio is an integral part of our Budapest scene, as they provide a remarkable online platform not only to musicians and DJs, but to local broadcasters, hosts and music enthusiasts alike. Keeping up the spirit, Lahmacun radio is eager to promote and celebrate music from the local Hungarian scene and from passionate labels, collectives and communities, be it anywhere in the world. This 20-track fundraising compilation is therefore dedicated to Lahmacun radio. It is presented by 10 local and 10 international producers, hailing from the Netherlands, United Kingdom, Greece and Israel. All of us worked and participated in this compilation to help the operation of this very important platform. All income we receive from sales of this V/A goes to support their work.

Dark Vektor – Siegas Las Cadenas EP [NDMEK006]

DARK VEKTOR - Siegas Las Cadenas

Dark Vektor is the new signing for the Madrid label Industrias Mekanikas. “Siegas Las Cadenas”, is the name with which the Catalan artist, presents this new work, a title that undoubtedly carries a very direct message about the times of repression and bias of freedoms that we came today. This new work presents 6 tracks, three original tracks of Dark Vektor, along with three remixes, of the hand of some of giants of the international electro scene. Assembler Code, Cosmic Force and Cestrian, are in charge of finishing off this incredible reference, full of pure power in each beat, demolishing bass, and hypnotic sequences and above all a message of vindication that is the common thread of the whole EP.

Cestrian – Gradients [MTRON010]

Cestrian (aka Ali Renault) lands on Mechatronica for the Berlin label’s 10th release with a remarkably wide electro-driven EP, exploring different rims of the genre from the transporting melodic peripheries and weirder edges, to the raw core. Two hypnotizing journeys in ”Gradients” and ”Rake & Pikel” make up the A-side along with the frenzied styles of ”Cat Strain”. ”Speak & Spell” blasts open the flip with an anthemic groove and potent basslines, before ”The Weir” rounds off the EP in heavy and atmospheric fashion, concluding an essential electro record – for the mind and for the floor.

Heinrich Dressel & Cestrian – Heinrich Dressel & Cestrian [CYBERDANCE014]

DRESSEL, Heinrich/CESTRIAN - Heinrich Dressel & Cestrian

Heinrich Dressel from Minimal Rome and Ali Renault in his Cestrian guise team up to bring us the latest release on Cyber Dance Records, a split EP featuring 2 tracks from each of them. Side A is Heinrich Dressel’s half of the record and kicks off with ‘Out Of The Blue’, a deep throbbing monster of a jam full of psychedelic synths rumbling and pulsating beneath mesmerising electronic tones. His other track. ‘Thru The Fog’ ups the tempo and pushes the rock-solid analogue weightiness into a Chicago-esque jack classic that DJs won’t be able to resist. The Cestrian half of the record counter-balances Dressel’s moody analogue jams with 2 LSD-driven electro-monsters that evoke bleak but somehow lush visions of life in the modern world of concrete and machines. ‘Strong Face’ with its distinctive audio sampling and dystopian future vibes would surely be just the kind of electro JG Ballard would approve of, while ‘Methane Filter’ is a tweaked-out electro rocker that sounds like robotic paranoia distilled into soundwaves.

Cestrian / Perseus – Annihilator [FFLASH002]

CESTRIAN/PERSEUS - Annihilator (Front Cover)

Ali Renault dons his Cestrian outfit once again for some equally momentous movements for the Future Flash imprint. “Annihilator” surely ranks in the upper echelons of apt titles as Renault explodes into a frenzy of spazmoid analogue rhythms from the off. Spectral flourishes and bubbling textures keep it interesting and it all rides on top of a pummelling aqua techno groove. The aforementioned spectral elements are expanded on by Perseus Traxx on an eerie electro refix that displays all the producers’ talent for eking every last drop of lysergia out of analogue machinery.
