2024 Best Tracks part 7 (of 10)

We start presenting our favorite tracks from 2024. More or less in a chronological order we present here the seventh set of tracks.

Detroit mainstay and masterful hip hop and deep house fusionist Andrés starts today’s list with ‘E=MC2‘ released on GT Flips. Andrés brings some silky electro rhythms and a hint of acid squelchy, but doesn’t forgot that irresistible sense of R&B lushness he is known for.

Black Dot lands on Italo Moderni with a cult futuristic gem on vocals by Le Chocolat Noir and hardware wizard Christian Kroupa. ‘Losing Game‘ is an obscure killer banger where self-affirming spoken word narration is heard in full force.

The genre bending Ian Martin offered Nijmegen’s finest Shipwrec the frigid funk of ‘Metaphysical Travellers‘. Stripped back, the track is bare in terms of its elements. Despite such meagre ingredients, Martin concocts an engaging and rich work of darkened grooves and sinister undercurrents.

Detroit-based Eric Schwab presents a reimagined version of ‘A House of My Own‘, from Chicago icon and Disctechno label head Mark Grusane, which brings fresh textures to a modern Chicago house classic.

Dive into the mesmerizing fusion of sounds with Alpha Sect with ‘La última vez’ released by Spannish label Soil Records. This track invites us to journey through a sonic realm of EBM, Italo-Disco, Wave and Techno, with it’s pulsating rhythms and ethereal melodies converge, blurring the lines between genres.

We stay in Spain for a darkwave gem from Oraculo Records. ‘Synthesized‘ comes from Dry_feel, owner and founder of Greek label Dystatik, and features vocals by Fluora. Fresh minimal synth and synthwave created with a dancefloor riot in mind.

‘Sounds Of Now‘ by seminal Dutch electronic producer Orlando Voorn is a deep house masterpiece with some Detroit techno soul infused into the mix, adding depth and a touch of nostalgia.

The Perpetual Singers is a collective of gospel singers from Amsterdam and ‘Elena‘ is an amazing jam produced by Arp Frique and released by Rush Hour. How much funk can you take!?

Divine Divide‘ is a tracks with a retro 80s feel from Mainrecords‘ co-label owner Matthias Schildger aka Matt Star.

Konstant is the collaborative project from Zurich’s Angelo Repetto and Nicolas Balmer. ‘Grüne Wiese‘ come from their debut album ‘Unbändige Kinder‘ released on Subject To Restrictions Discs. Expect New Wave, Kraut and Post Punk, characterised by rawness, bluntness and the syllables from the heart.

More to come. Stay tuned.
