2024 Best Tracks part. 3 (of 10)

We start presenting our favorite tracks from 2024. More or less in a chronological order we present here the third set of tracks.

The Portugal-based Brazilian Unrealistic Expectations label owner, Nothing Was There released on Alley Version his interpretation of Latin ‘Jackin’ House, perfectly displayed in the tracks called ‘The Owl (House Slaughter)’.

Another one on Syncrophone Records. This time is ‘Deux‘ from Mike Dehnert. As the needle meets the groove, expect nothing short of electronic mastery, a testament to Dehnert’s unwavering commitment to pushing the boundaries of techno.

LA-based producer Ole Mic Odd blends electro traditions into gloomy post-punk aesthetics with menacing vocoders, murky pads and distorted acid in the track ‘Dr. 770’, released on the Slovenian label KRI.

DJ Nephil with his side project System Disorder for Sons Of Traders Records makes some acid-electro variations experimenting with machines.

Budapest’s Dalmata Daniel label is always delivering the goods. This time the split EP from Timothy J. Fairplay and Norwell. ‘TV Tower’ is the second track from Timothy J. Fairplay from this charts. Fast percussion elements and squished lower frequencies take center stage in this intergalactic episode, but the whistle-like melodies and descending, bubbling robot signals make the journey complete.

From the same Dalmata Daniel release comes ‘Midnight Rituals’ from, one of Budapest’s most prolific producers, Norwell. ‘Midnight Rituals’ gives you the chills with its breath-like swooshes, grievous sirens and deadly asteroid belts.

The Bari based producer returns Francesco Strippoli AKA Armonics returns with his synthesizer warmth to Bordello a Parigi. Throbbing keys are further fortified by swirling synth stabs, the intensity being ratchetted up to boiling point in this dancefloor delight with ‘Music and Lights‘.

Label head Fabrizio Mammarella and fellow Italian innovator Rodion on Slow Motion with their energetic single ‘Un Segnale Di Speranza’. A ground-breaking collaboration between the pair which again features Mammarella’s signature arcane arps and the sweeping, glassy harmonies of Rodion, and the Dub Mix explores the further corners of his Fabrizio’s sonic world, displaying his innate gifts for creating future classics.

Acid Quarantine‘ is a bonus tracks from Neels release on Interdimensional Transmissions from Detroit.

Life Force’ pairs Omar S’ unique drum sound – brushed metal, scruffy, raw – with his super sweet synths that always bring the warmth and soul.

More to come. Stay tuned.
