Following the release of Barbie Bertisch’s debut album Prelude in June 2022, Love Injection announce Prelude Remixes, kicking off with a two-track 12” single featuring remixes by Gene Tellem and Tama Sumo & Lakuti, followed by a full digital release including also remixes by Dazzle Drums ft. Eric Kupper, Gavilán Rayna Russom, Olive T and UMFANG.
The label’s first release is a carefully curated V.A. comprised of six original tracks that illustrate and radiate the curated sound, vision and atmosphere of Phases Records. The V.A. combines genre-bending music from six different artists, exploring the broad sonic landscape of electro-industrial dance music, pushing boundaries in sound, without breaching the sanctity of the dance floor. The V.A. features tracks by New York techno legend and owner of Sonic Groove records Adam X, Mannequin records boss Alessandro Adriani, Maedon (Sonic Groove), 3.14 (Pi Electronics, Modal Analysis), E-bony (PAG TLV) and Chloe Lula (Aufnahme + Wiedergabe).

Following the epic dystopian LP ‘Manifold’ Versalife returns with his second album on 20/20 Vision ‘Chronoception’. The accomplished Dutch producer Boris Bunnik aka Conforce delves deep into the cosmic abyss with 8 auditory adventures laced with shadowy tones, deep base and robotic funk.
Matti Turunen with a new EP on Cultivated Electronics vinyl-only series, Cultivated Electronics Ltd. For his ‘Radau’ EP on CE Ltd he turns up the Electro-funk to the max with lush arrangements, dulcet melodies and gritty beats – there’s a warmth in the machines.
“Krishna Goineau is well known for his starring role in ‘Los Niños del Parque’ with Liaisons Dangereuses and in other projects such as Velodrome and Xeroox. Through one of his friends we have been lucky enough to receive a hard disk on which there are a variety of unreleased tracks by Krishna Goineau with MCL (Micro Cheap League) recorded in the year 85-86. Krishna lived in Barcelona at that time and was involved in different groups while traveling through Germany and Belgium to create new projects. After dissolving Liaisons Dangereuses in 1983 Krishna started a new project with MCL where you can identify the essence and influences that he had at that time, touches of EBM and metal synthesizers with vocals in Spanish as in the track ” No Information”. These tracks are preserved in excellent quality in which Alden Tyrell has done the mastering on vinyl and digital. Having something like this is like finding a treasure in the middle of a secret island. To finalize the release we have edits from Silent Servant, Curses, Esprit Divers. Deckard & Lucient.”
Naamal M’bae aka Nam’s is next on Lux Rec, namely, number 49. The young musician is all dark and desperation, fast, angry and on point. Song titles are quite explicative of the mood one will swirl into. A 7” with an extremely fresh take on all the things we like. Bitter frustration. Spiralling down into chaos.
Growing up in Chicago, later Detroit-based music producer, Theo Parrish is internationally well known for his own inimitable downtempo house music style. The approach Parrish took to compiling DJ-Kicks was very ambitious, inviting his Detroit peers to produce a collection of brand new material, and in turn creating the first ever all exclusive entry to the esteemed series. “Detroit creates. But rarely imitates. Why? We hear and see many from other places do that with what we originate. No need to follow. Get it straight. In the Great Lakes there are always more under the surface than those that appear to penetrate the top layer of attention and recognition. What about them that defy tradition? Those that side step the inaccurate definitions often given from outside positions? This is that evidence. Enjoy.”
In the year 2022, two induvidual electronic entities have formed an alliance; Spacetime Records by Darren Nye and Childhood Intelligence by Venus News Network – morphed into Elusive Intelligence. Darren Nye has been devoted to deep machine-dreaming techno since the 90s, but he’s hit a particularly productive run in the last four years. On “Voyage Of Light” across nine tracks Nye weaves a spectrum of sci-fi tales with the textbook tools – warm, expressive synth lines and crisp, intricate drum machine patterns.
Theory of movement is back with new music, the collaboration project between Dan Piu & Grant released their last EP back in 2018 . With this EP they blend all shades of classic sounding atmospherique house with their special twist. B2 features a collaboration with Parbleu and create late night blissful cut. This EP inaugurates Grant’s new label, When The Morning Comes Records.
Obia Records third instalment has arrived with “Sonic Movements EP”. This ritual is guided by Caribbean producer Trinidadian Deep who delves deep into the spirit of the cosmos with a highly percussive and spacious chords filled EP. The main track “Sonic Movements” quickly evolves from rhythm filled percussion to beautiful pads and infectious piano solos. Accompanied by exceptional synth work this track captures the listener attention from start to finish.
The return of The Nightstalker, a Childhood Intelligence endeavor written/produced by Dan Piu & Gary Rich (2022). The second album “Genetic Constitution” is the sequel of “The Tragedies Of A High-Tech World” (2020), in which The Nightstalker continues to manifest its mystic dystopian electronic prophecies. Full of haunted melodies, cinematic compositions and passages of hope and despair.
Nuron makes a spectacular return on De:tuned with a compilation of hidden treasures. Nurmad Jusat aka Nuron / Fugue, one of the originators of the UK emotive techno sound, went on a quest for archived material and unearthed a handful of DAT tapes with previously unreleased music from the early to mid 90s. The tracks offer a deeply melodic and unique masterclass. Nuron combines a pulsing four-on-the-floor signature beat of the traditional techno sound with his characteristic rhythm and harmony elements. Classic Likemind-esque material that comes with an exclusive Stasis remix of ‘Contrapoint’.
Hot off his debut for L.I.E.S. young music prodigy Tom Carruthers delivers a new 6 track LP of total Transmat worship. Jam packed with huge DX basslines, slamming 909s, and catchy melodies – this LP is made for the floor and would be hard pressed not to be thought of as a lost relic from ’89. Where as his last LP channeled more bleep elements, this one goes right to Detroit and moves the crowd as it should be…anthem after anthem.
Hats off to Jamal Moss for the tongue-in-cheek title of his latest album as Hieroglyphic Being, which is naturally another pleasingly wild, freewheeling, imaginative and out-there excursion in his now trademark style. It sees him sprint between mutant electronic jazz (‘Circumploar’), out-there analogue techno (’21 Days’), organ-rich post-beatdown chuggers (‘Foreboding Self Pleasure’), reverb-laden ambient soundscapes (‘A Dream Within a Dream’, ‘Delta Opus L’), industrial-strength dancefloor weirdness (‘The Prograde Direction’), sub-heavy lo-fi deep house (‘Black Love On An Early Sunday Morning’), sparse electronic future funk (‘Future Shocked’), and jacking, sci-fi seeped brilliance (‘The Andromeda Strain’). In other words, it’s another excellent collection from one of dance music’s genuine geniuses.
