Sound Synthesis – End Of The Line. (In Tribute to Tron) [ER022]

Electro Records have put together seven unique albums for their Sci-Fi Electro Series. Each release takes inspiration from a classic sci-fi film of the 20th century, 2001: A Space Odyssey, THX 1138, Blade Runner, The Thing, Akira, Terminator and Tron, produced by Scape One, Sound Synthesis, Kan3da, Nebenprodukt, N-Ter, Transpac and Alek Stark. Each artist has created a 15 minute track for each side of the record, taking you from pure electro tracks to very experimental compositions, sounds and atmospheres. Each side is divided in ”movements” in a continuous morphing process without any pause between different tracks.

Tagliabue – Un’ Altra Forma Di Vibrazioni LP [INVINC31]

Italian producer Joseph Tagliabue is back with a full-length album on Glasgow’s Invisible, Inc. With “Un’ Altra Forma Di Vibrazioni” Tagliabue continues to expand on the cosmic foundations laid by such pioneering experimental forefathers as Franco Battiato and his ground-breaking abstract ambient work of the ’70s and Klaus Schultze whose legendary Innovative Communications label birthed the “Berlin school” sound at the start of the ’80s, then tracing a path toward later luminaries like Boards of Canada and Plaid. There’s a personal, emotive and ethereal quality also present here conjuring feelings of 4AD’s glory years and the likes of This Mortal Coil and Dead Can Dance. However, backwards-looking music this is not. It’s fair to say the Milan-based producer is developing his very own distinct sound as he matures from one release to the next and regardless of his wide range of influences, it’s Tagliabue’s firm grasp of sound design and audio engineering that takes this album far beyond the realm of just “electronica” or “psychedelia” and plants it firmly into a distinctly forward-looking contemporary space of its very own that’s as much music for the heart as it is music for the head.

SSIEGE – Meteora [KH035]

SSIEGE have struck our non-linear world with Meteora. Its elusiveness might be its biggest strength. Indicating a genre is a lost cause. Any description locating it safely inside well-defined boundaries falls flat. Neither analogue or digital, neither old or contemporary, these 5 tracks evoke an androgynous world that is at once open and veiled. A place where presence and absence and weightlessness and gravity are simultaneous. Bathing in colorful light, this record is like a slightly melancholic dream able to usher in a new day or soundtrack the last rays of sunlight

Transpac – The Future Is Here (In Tribute to THX 1138) [ER016]

The series is a collection of seven releases inspired by the following films created in the 20th century: THX 1138, 2001 A Space Odyssey, Blade Runner, The Thing, Akira, Terminator and Tron. Hems – Chaotic Affair [TITR001]

Titrate is a platform for the publication of experimental sonic pieces, set out on a path of continual research and exploration. Spread across five tracks, the release transits a number of spaces – from the post-inertia stirrings of “Chaotic Affair”, to the cutting and more austere drone layout of “One”. Cosmic tech broadcast “Beautiful weekend with friends” is a fizzing metamorphosis that melts and mutates itself into “Switching Gears”, a darker and more liquid environment. The final track “Stain” concludes the release with a musique concrète touch. With an overall meditative albeit experimental tone, this package is replete with rich textural qualities luring the listener into auditory immersion.

A Dublu – Polytraffic EP [GEODESIC003]

There is a place in this universe called Ploiești. A former industrial city, grey, totally colorless. This is where the story begins for A Dublu, a project founded in 2012 by Ardeleanu Bogdan and Andu Simion, when they created musical sequences inspired by Cameliei or Vlasiei areas. Geodesic 003, or Polytraffic EP is a collection of tracks suitable for different moments in a clubbing night, acid textures, warm synths for warm-up but also techno directions perfect for more aggressive sessions or more alert bpm.

G. Race – On Fire [BAP100]

Re-issue of this amazing italo banger, originally released in 1984 on Merak Music Italy. ‘I’m burning, I don’t know what to do. My love is like a furnace I know you feel it too. On fire, my heart’s in ecstasy I know we’ll stay together, the flames in you and me. I’m on fire, with desire for you. Can’t you feel it too. I’m on fire, want to be with you. Know you want me too. Being with you is uplifting me. Higher and higher so lovingly. Being with you is uptaking me. Farther and farther so dreamily. I’m on fire, I want you. Now I know you want me too. I’m on fire, I want you. Now I know you want me too.’

Spazio Vitale – Spazio Funky [DSM015]

Disco Segreta brings you another italian disco rare holy grail. Spazio Vitale has been an 8 piece one-off studio band project from the Sampierdarena district in Genoa, Italy. They recorded and released their only 45 single in November 1977: “Spazio Funky” b/w the ballad “Il Bacio”, on the local tiny Melody label. “Spazio Funky” is a magic-carpet ride through the classic elements of funk-disco: electric bass and drums, along with guitars, choruses, three voices and the heavy use of Eminent 310 Unique and Clavinet Hohner D6 synthesisers, rendering the widely experimental nature of the late 1970s disco scene in Italy and the diverse nature of the music scene of one of Italy’s music epicenters: Genoa. This first ever 12” vinyl release will feature the original “Spazio Funky” 1977 version, along with a remix by italian synth mastermind DJ Marcello Giordani.

Giovanni Damico – Ashes / Milky Way [SC7053]

Giovanni Damico continues his transgenre dance music exploration. He’s given us modern classics across proto house, Italo, afro boogie and synth-funk. Here he lands somewhere in Chicago WBMX zone or at least where the classic early house radio station would be at now. Channeling deep on the Italo slapper vibes, dark like when you get too deep in the ocean or like too far above the Planet’s surface, heavy spaced out new wavey, tropical moon flares.

DJ Stingray 313 – F.T.N.W.O. [MCR00004LP]

DJ Stingray 313’s highly-praised F.T.N.W.O. LP returns to heed its sonic warnings and powerful messages on his own label, Micron Audio. Originally released on WeMe Records in 2012, F.T.N.W.O. displays the high-tempo, ever forward production DJ Stingray 313 is known world around for. DJ Stingray 313 says “FTNWO was conceptually centered on conspiracy theory, science, prepper doomsday preparation / survivalism and social commentary,” and the foreboding introduction of “Evil Agenda” sonically explains just what lies ahead for the listener. The stark warning leads into DJ Stingray 313’s stomping “Dark Arts”, beginning the FTNWO experience. “Room Clearance” gets straight to business with raw, gritty and true-to-the-art Detroit electro sounds, along with a heavy, quivering lead to piece the track together.
