Monty Luke – Nightdubbing LP [REKIDS237]
Rekids presents ‘Nightdubbing’, the second album from Monty Luke. The Black Catalogue boss and former Planet-E label manager Monty Luke effortlessly traverses deep house and techno rife with bass-rattling low-end and experimental rhythms. It is no surprise, then, that the album is heavily inspired by ‘70s and mid-80s dub reggae, seeing Luke incorporate and modernise the genre’s iconic rhythms, spoken word poetry, and spacious bursts of harmony across the LP. Monty Luke spent ten formative years in Detroit, where the city’s unique musical spirit influenced him immensely. He has since distilled this experience into the music he has released. His raw, dub-infused sound comes with plenty of futuristic designs, and ‘Nightdubbing’ continues to push the boundaries of his music.
VA – Inside Vol.3 [NERO061]
Third chapter of the ‘Inside’ series of various artists EPs selected by Neroli’s very own Volcov. Fred P makes a welcome return on the label with a late night banger with heart warming strings entitled ‘Time Well Spent’. The rest symbol project [by Molinaro, Moreiya and Wendy Lavone] offers the blissful cinematic ‘Etius Motif’. On the flipside Hakim Murphy and G. Marcell team up as Resonating with the raw relentless ‘J707’ and Patrice Scott’s lush opus ‘Untitled’ from The First Circle [Neroli’s 20th anniversary] album appears here in a longer beat version.
George Heerd – Acid Quest [SG008]
George from Heerd returns to the Stomping Grounds label, this time marking his debut under his new solo project George Heerd with the Acid Garden EP. Drawing inspiration from the golden era of UK tech house while adding modern touches, George crafts an EP that reminisces about the early 2000s while embracing a contemporary twist.
The Overlords – Organic? [MEC081]
Re-release including all original tracks plus some bonus and remixes. The Overlords is a pioneer electronic project coming from Denmark. Rune Bendixen, Carsten Pedersen and Ian Ion started to work together in 1987 inspired by Front 242 and Adrian Sherwood’s electronic dub. The ever-cheaper samplers allowed the band to record their debut album ‘Midnight at the Grooveyard II’ (1988) and built their own studio The Grooveyard in Copenhagen. Next works started to get increasingly influenced by techno, new beat and innovative dance music. A new single ‘Moontrap’ (1990) appeared on Belgium’s Antler Subway Records and led The Overlords to collaborate with Kenneth Baker who remixed the next single and massive club hit ‘Sundown’ (1991). The full-length ‘Organic?’ (1991) came shortly after also on Antler Subway in Belgium, ZYX Records in Germany and reached America with Caroline Records.

Re-release of this timeless electronic anthem. A track that defies any classification. The perfect mix between Belgian techno, trance and EBM. ‘Sundown’ was released as single in 1991 and instantly became a techno classic in Germany and all over the globe selling over 200,000 copies worldwide.
System Disorder – Random Report [SOT012]
Sons Of Traders Records presents DJ Nephil’s side project “System Disorder” with this latest collection entitled “Random Report”. He is continuing the experimentation and sound research in the studio and in his artistic compositional form connected both to the machines and to his own vision. He is presenting here eight acid-electro variations on a more minimal theme around a sort of contemporary dark novel.
Ole Mic Odd – Mythical Realm [KRI007]
LA-based producer Ole Mic Odd is back on the Slovenian label KRI with a full EP that crashes electro traditions into gloomy post-punk aesthetics. The result is six filthy tunes of menacing vocoders, murky pads and distorted acid that go from 2 AM clinched-teeth-madness to punishing slow burners that will bump a 64 Pontiac Lowrider.
Egyptian Lover – Emotions / Dirty [DMSR87011]
Egyptian Lover is celebrating 40 years of releasing music in 2024 AMD ‘Emotions’ is the first track from his upcoming album titled 1987. It’s a classic 80s inspired west-coast electro style cut – a style that Egyptian Lover is pretty much responsible for creating, harking back to his classic material like ‘Egypt, Egypt’ and ‘I Need a Freak’, his use of the Roland 808 along with Kraftwerk and hip-hop influences making the artist synonymous with the origin of the electro sound. Also included is ‘Emotional’ which is the instrumental version of the title track. For the B-Side ‘Dirty Passionate Yell’ is featured again, along with the instrumental version (Dirty Music).
Dustin Zahn – Temporary Vandalism EP [BP074]
Dustin Zahn makes a return to the techno label Blueprint with his latest titled ‘Temporary Vandalism’. ‘Catharsis’ is a metallic sounding banger that thrives on driving the tension to an all-time pitch – all the making of a classic techno record. ‘Rotator’ adds a bit more of a tribal sound to the looped style killer. The title track goes full tribal reminding us of classic Oliver Ho material. ‘Conduit Of Chaos’ is perhaps our favorite of the lot with the classy ever-changing rhythm and incessant pressure that continues to rise. For many, Blueprint is the example of proper techno – and that’s a theory that’s backed up by this dancefloor ammunition.
Stanislav Tolkachev / Plastique01 – Seasoned Greetings [DR008]
“Seasoned Greetings” marks the inception of the DE RIO split-release vinyl series. Collaborating in this inaugural installment are resident artist Plastique01 and Ukrainian techno luminary Stanislav Tolkachev. Originating from an encounter in Florence, where the duo not only shared the stage but also exchanged personal narratives, the EP delves into their unique interpretations of the techno genre. The result is a mesmerizing collection of four tracks, characterized by hypnotic melodies, unconventional sequences, detuned synthlines, and the pulsating rhythm of raw drums. The collaboration encapsulates the essence of their artistic synergy, promising a sonic journey that captivates and transcends boundaries.
