Hilltown Disco welcome’s the excellent Luxus Varta to the label for the effective and powerful ‘Retrofiction’ EP. A record with layers of intelligence and emotional synth work-outs. The sounds range from a melancholic A-side, touching on wave with more disturbed vocals on the B-side, all crafted with a woven spine of electro with serious pulsing basslines.
The Hacker and Italo Moderni join forces with a masterful electro EP. Infused with techno vibes and featuring a remix by the renowned Terence Fixmer, this EP is a testament to the cutting-edge fusion of styles. Drawing inspiration from Liaisons Dangereuses, The Hacker weaves intricate basslines and rhythms, exemplified in the track ‘No Señor.’ ‘Me and My Sequencer Part 1 and Part 2’ unveils a clandestine narrative, a hidden tale shared only between The Hacker and his synthesizers—revealing the magical connection cultivated over the years
Eivydas K, hailing from the underground scene of Vilnius, Lithuania, drops his debut EP on Sons Of Traders. Known for his gritty and unpolished sound, he’s a member of Digital Tsunami crew and a familiar voice on Radio Vilnius with his Eternal Sunshine show. This release is a raw, unfiltered foray into techno and electro, mirroring his no-frills approach to music and life.
AI-36 comes from Ear to Ear – the debut collaboration between label regular Samuel van Dijk (VC-118A, Multicast Dynamics) and Ukrainian artist Yevgen Chebotarenko. Taken from a series of live recording sessions, the album explores in four parts a markedly darker realm of soundscape music. A cornucopia of abstract morphing scenes and heady synesthesia, the album brims with rich sonic detail and evocative gestures. Deftly blending organic sound textures with an experimental austerity, ‘Live Recordings’ displays potent and accomplished storytelling.
Absolutely killer darkside mutations from Tradecraft, aka Carrier aka Shifted, a stunning hour-long session of dank, highly atmospheric technoid alchemy that plays from the Pan Sonic/Vainio/T++/Actress songbook. Key technoid shapeshifter Guy Brewer chases a trio of aces under his Carrier alias with the murky arrival of his Tradecraft project, forging heaving downtempo slugs and vapours from a signature palette of iridescent electronics deployed somewhere along the line between Actress, Burial and Mika Vainio, on a cybergoth bent.
Ada Kaleh, the Romanian composer and DJ, follows up on his recent releases for R&S Records and Apollo with a brand new single, ‘Unravelling’. Earth Boys, the collaborative force of Michael Sherburn and Julian Duron, reemerges on Public Release with their latest EP, ‘In the Sun.’ Their signature raw and smoke-infused sound is as rugged as ever, reaffirming the unmistakable Earth Boys touch. The lead single gets a hypnotic tweaky groove courtesy of an Eden Burns remix—perfect for setting the stage for a peak-time build—while Tokyo’s Mayurashka offers a deep and contemplative atmospheric chugger. This 5-track EP is perfect for a spectrum of cheeky activities on and off the dance floor.

Chilean artist Magda Rot makes a head-turning debut here with some ice-cold electro rhythms on the Return To Disorder label which is now fast approaching a quarter century of releases. There is no messing with these sounds – they’re built on tight, kinetic rhythms with fierce sound designs and stark futurism. ‘Triads’ is a mix of crisp hits and gurgling synths with dramatic background chords. ‘Black Sense’ is a slamming cut with a twisted bassline and hammering drum funk and ‘Coincidences’ brings the chilliness with its frosted lines and cold waves of synth. ‘Unusual Theory’ shuts down with a far sighted sense of electro-techno doom.
Trystero comprises Scottish/Luxembourgish producer Thomas Lea Clarke (aka MR TC) and Low Bat, otherwise known as one half of the formidable duo Jean-Luc. Their debut album, “Sfumare e Vedere”, was conceived over three days aboard Urban Boat, a 1960s barge transformed into an arts and performance space. Moored along the river just outside of Paris, the duo embarked on a joint residency, discovering their complementary creative energies and a mutual passion for all things strange and psychedelic. As frontman, Low Bat is a fire-powered poet, his unparalleled stage presence resonating through Trystero’s music. Meanwhile, Clarke’s drone-lead electronic accompaniment takes its cues from sizzling acid, 1990s snap rhythms, post-punk, krautrock and shoegaze. Firmly rooted in these tripped-out genres, Trystero journeys to entirely new cosmic dimensions.
